My SA is back from BUSA (had to be sent in for repairs). I am sure that the bracelet will be polished to almost new and since I wear this watch everyday and all day I am thinking about getting a strap to save the steel bracelet from getting scratched.

The face is black with white dial and roman numerals. I wear pretty causual cloths most days, khaki and polo shirts. What strap would look best?

Black leather?
Black croc?
Brown leather?
Brown croc?

Also, should I do the tang buckle or deployment?

I'm a fan of both the black and brown croc's on this piece. As far as the steel bracelet goes...where it! Who cares about the inevitable scuffs, IMO you purchased a nice watch to wear it, and the scuffs just add character :lingsrock:

Suppose you wear the bracelet two times a week for a total of 8 hours. In a month the bracelet will look like it did before anyway - it just can't be avoided on a polished bracelet.

I am a HUU-GE fan of brown - calf or croco - on a black dial. Good luck!!

If it's an everyday wearer, I'd go with one of the calf straps on the deployant. All straps are essentially consumables and OEM croco is a damn expensive strap. Hence calf is a more cost effective option for a daily wearer. The deployant will also extend the life of the strap, and also dress up the watch nicely too as it looks way more classy than a tang and buckle IMO.

But if money's no object then go with the croco.

Black or brown - both look good with the white dial SA.

I ended up going with a black calf strap (they didn't have brown calf or either croc options) and I didn't want to go rubber. I think that I will end up ordering a brown calf strap as well or brown croc (not sure yet).

I like the deployment, but don't want to spend $240 for it just to get it scratched up.

@FEAR... yes, arabic, not roman, my bad!!!

Here it is!!! What do you think?

Looks very sharp. Good choice

But.....

.... all you need are some Cape Cods and scratches just disappear. The deployant prolongs strap life considerably so it's well worth the investment in the long term.

General questions..... if you are wearing a black face watch with a black strap..... should your shoes and belt also be black?

Sorry to chuckle, but this topic always makes me laugh whenever it crops up!

I think the whole "colour co-ordination of shoes, belt and watch-strap" thing is much more of an American concern than anybody else. Either that or maybe I just walk around all the time like a colour-blind rainbow! But either way it's never remotely bothered me if my watch doesn't match my shoes/belt (if I'm wearing one). I've had watches in the past with blue straps and I sure as hell don't own any blue shoes or a blue belt, and before anyone asks, no I don't wear the boots from a suit of armour whenever I wear a watch on a bracelet! :poke:

No in all serious, and IMHO, just wear it with whatever you feel comfortable with. I know I certainly do.

Looks great. I have the same combo but I still wear the bracelet 70% of the time and just keep it polished with a Cape Cod Cloth

Looks good, dresses the SA up nicely.
I have both the leather and rubber strap and wear it more on rubber as it's so comfortable and wears better as a daily. The rubber can take a beating and looks good imo.
Regarding the deployant getting scratched, when worn, the only metal exposed is the same as the buckle on a tang strap so chances of scratching it are probably the same as having a tang. I recommend it, as Driver8 says, it makes watch more classy.

I need to find a cape cod cloth. Also, is there a tool for the spring pins I can buy so that I can change between the strap and the bracelet?

@Driver8... I am now on the hunt for suit of armor. As soon as I find one that fits I will be able to wear the bracelet again!!! j/k but I really enjoyed the analogy.

I do have to say that I think I will end up getting the deployment and a brown strap in the future.

Bergeon 6767F, plenty of references to US and European sellers on here.
