to answer the original question - they look cool - what other reason do you need?

Boy, you said it. They take what is already a feature a lot of owners don't use with much regularity, and make it even more likely to go unused. With both my Evo and CSO, there were a number of times I decided that what I wanted to time wasn't worth the effort of getting the damn pushers ready to use. They are one of my major watch peeves.

Really? You guys must be way more pushed for time than i am. It takes all of what, 15 seconds to unscrew the pushers.

It's not so much the time as the effort. Option A: I push a button. Option B: I stand there for 15 seconds unscrewing this tiny ring so I can then push a button. I prefer Option A. I'm by no means digitally challenged (read: arthritic, clumsy, etc.), but I find it awkward trying to grab the little rings and unscrew them. Also, sometimes the time really was an issue. There were at least a couple times I was running late somewhere, had to park at a meter, and literally could not take the time to unscrew the pushers to time the meter. I would have to wait until I got to where I was going, and then start the timer, by which time several minutes had elapsed. That isn't to say the pushers made the chrono unusable, just less convenient. Considering I never expose my watches to conditions where screw-down pushers would be of any benefit, there was no positive trade-off. They were just pure annoyance.

Speaking of which, this photo leaves me a bit obsessed over that IWC. An Original, 42mm, right?

I agree about unscrewing the pushers. I had that on my evo and regular pushers on my crosswind. Seems like they tried to fix something that wasn't broken.

That is something I have considered an absolute NO for any future watches I have. A lot of the stuff I time is trivial, so screw down pushers would really make that hard

I just tend to like the look of chronos, never actually used the functionality of them :|

Use it daily: Time my showers, use it when cooking, start it when ordering food both for delivery or eating in a restaurant. Honestly i cant imagine buying a watch without one both for looks and function.

I have gone from all Chrono's to just one, my Evo. I felt if I was not buying a chrono I was missing out on something. Then I wanted a three hand watch so I could admire the large sweeping hand. that hand must be hypnotic! all others I own are 3 hand.

I use the bezel and chrono to time everything, journey times, parking meters, time from ordering meal to service! etc. The main reason is the function is on the watch so I'll use it.

With regards the Evo's SDP's yes they are a pain in the ***. would I do without they. Probably not! On my older Chronomat I felt I was missing out but not having them

On all my watches the timer is used for one important aspect in my new career.....

Stay at home Dad.... Timing the new arrivals naps!

Does that mean you're wearing it in the shower? I hope you keep it serviced regularly. Regular exposure to the heat and steam will cause the seals to wear out sooner.

That's something I've noticed: the sweeping central seconds hand on a three-hand watch just makes it look alive. I don't get that same feeling from a small seconds hands, either on a chronograph, or a non-chrono that has a small seconds complication.

Bugs me somewhat too, but look at it this way - we are all admitting we hardly ever use the chrono function. Without screw down pushers I would never ever swim with a chrono on. So you get the look, don't use the dang stop watch anyway.....and have no W/R concerns.
