It is definitely a screw from the movement. I looked at the end and it is snapped off. It goes to the lever mechanism that resets the chrono. The other end of the screw is in the hole. I asked for a new watch, not a repaired brand new one. We'll see????

I think that your chances of getting a new piece will be enhanced if the loose screw damages the finish on the movement - clearly that's not something that replacing the screw will fix.

so..... shake it like a Polaroid picture?

I never said that........

It is on it's way to Denver, overnight. I am sure it will get shook up. I just hate to think of it in the hair spring. There is a scratch on the levers for the chrono reset. I am sure I will have to point that out later if they send it back...

Is there any way you can point it out to them now so you don't have to send it back later? That would be a huge waste of time.

I did but I am not sure if that got relayed to Denver. I once sent a Navi world in 3 times for a stuttering chrono sweep. I don't have too high of expectations.

Wow. How often has this happened with a solid case back.

Hope it gets sorted to your satisfaction and quickly.

Damn that sucks. Hopefully they dont just pop off the back and take it out and replace the screw. You should insist on a full service.

I had the same thing happen on a Radiomir 287 - on the way home from buying it!! Fortunately they have a great in-house watch maker who immediately knew what it was - Panerai does a several hour shake test of some sort and upon seating the screws after that to insure none were loose, a head was broken. It lodged between the rotor and case edge. In a half hour I let the store with it perfect. This Watch Ninja new precisely what it was without opening the case which lead me to believe this is something that, while rare, happens enough that well-trained watch-smiths know about it.

This screw was sheared off. If it just unscrewed no biggie. This was broken off with the threads still in the plate. It was the pivot of the lever for the chrono reset. I should know in a few days what they plan to do. Unfortunately their guy is in Denver at their main store.

Unfortunately I experienced the same issue with my Navi 01 LE (Screw and washers floating in the movement) which I had worn about 5 days. It is currently in CT getting a "basic" service as the woman on the phone told me. I'm hoping that Breitling gets it right this time... Would be nice compensation if they included an additional band...

Well, The watch was over nighted to Denver. Then immediately sent Breitling for repair. It should be in the shipment my AD receives today. The word is Breitling is extremely sorry and guarantees the watch will be trouble free from here on out. We'll see.... Pretty fast turn around, maybe the old "you can keep this piece of junk" had some influence on the turnaround.

I'm glad they turned this around so quickly for you. I just hope there was no damage from the screw...

Good to hear! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's going to stay fixed this time.

OK, I am done slamming Breitling. I picked up my Navi today. Completely repaired, times well and looks great. I dropped this watch off on 9-24-11 it went to Breitling USA was repaired and back to me 10-3-11. That"s pretty good, a one week turnaround. I guess they are trying so I can cut them a little slack and not be such a watch knob. Thank you for all your support. I love the Navi and the LE allowed me the 43mm size I needed. Now I am just going to enjoy it.
