I recently purchased a PO. This is my first automatic watch, and was wondering is it possibleto over wind the watch? So far I wear it all the time, but I know if I take it off for more then 2 days, it will stop and I'll have to wind it up. So I just want to make sure I don't harm anything in the process. Thanks!

You can't overwind an automatic.

If you aren't wearing it for a while just give it 30 turns a day and it will continue running fine.

No it's not possible to over-wind a modern automatic as they have a clutch mechanism that prevents it. Without it you'd be constantly risking over-winding it just by wearing it.

EDIT - Once again Roff beats me by 2 seconds!

Thanks guys! I kinda figured that would be the case, but just wanted to make sure.

Thanks for the tip about winding it 30 times on days I"m not wearing it.

Have a great weekend guys!
