I come across these Aerospace watches once in a while that allegedly used to belong to King Abdullah of Jordania or Kings Hussain or some other king in middle east. Have no idea why the king suddenly needed some petty cash and sold his watches..... does anyone know what the story here is? Have never heard of a fake Aerospace..... are these fake?

Real and most of them were commissioned for the various air forces. There are definitely Jordanian and Iranian and I believe a few others.

Is it just an endorsement, or did the dignitary actually own the piece?

I've always assumed they were bought for distribution to air force personnel.

The King/Sheik probably was presented with #001.

Agreed. It'd be a brave man to give the King anything other than #001. Therefore I think it's pretty safe to say that unless one of these IS actually #001, then it'll be highly unlikely to have been from the King's personal collection.

interesting to see that this appears to be an LE without LE numbers on the caseback ?
maybe it´s just a King Abdullah dial ?
we all know who is selling this watch (or trying to, for the last years ....)

edit: read the blah in the listing now, they claim this was an LE of 1, personally delivered to the King by Breitling ........

I don't believe that they were true LEs under Breitling's definition, more SEs as multiple matches were / could have been ordered. Of course the fact that the same seller has been trying to sell the same watch for an extended period of time makes it seem as though there are more around as it's always on eBay.

so these are just watches that have been commissioned by the king, not actually worn/owned by the king... that would make more sense. This guy is making it sound like it did belong to the king himself

This guy is quite good at making things sound/look good at first sight, he had many aliases here, all/most? now inactive, my name for him is "the Shah of Blah" (copyright Salman Rushdie)
