Hi, I have a chance to pick up an 01 LE on black calf or a 01 non-LE with SS bracelet and Arabic's for only $436 more than the 01 LE. I realize that the crystal case back is the main draw to the LE and the numbering on the case but the lack of SS bracelet and Arabic dial leave me thinking I might leave the LE on the table. Am I crazy or is the LE really going to be looked as a rare collectors piece down the road? That clear backing is nice though. I suppose I could just get the LE and buy a SS bracelet but does anyone know what the new part number of the Navitimer 22/18 SS Bracelet is and what the list price is? Has anyone put the classic SS bracelet on their 01 LE (photo's please)?

Thanks,
Chris

According to the sales listing for the Navi B01 bracelet in the sales section, the bracelet is 447a. I believe list price is $1,520. As for it being a rare collector's item down the road, I say buy what you like now and don't worry about it.

Just saw them both side by side not long ago. The case inscription on the LE is cool. I like the exhibition back but I must admit I seldom looked at the exhibition backs on watches I have owned after the novelty wore off. I think it comes back to the dial. Pretty close to identical (were the wings gold on the LE? I have forgotten that.) but you did specifically mention the arabic numerals. If you really like the arabic, that's the way to go.

I vote non-LE with arabic dial (bracelet) and then get a nice leather strap for versatility.
(not that I have a vote or anything :) )

not sure I understand your question regarding the "classic SS bracelet" ? endlinks are the same for the 01 and the LE, but bracelets for the older Navis will not fit !

My vote would be for the LE, personally. I tend to like the stick markers better than the arabic, but that's just me. The LE is a watch that I don't think I can keep myself from owning at some point - it has a magnetic pull that I'm finding extremely hard to resist. I've been trying to find a way to justify it to my better half ever since I tried one on a couple of months ago.

Seeing as I am the only forum member with the non-LE, the deck is stacked

I personally prefer the looks of the non-LE. The black date wheel is where it reached perfection for me. I think it adds a level of symmetry that I just love.

I also prefer the yellow gold applied wings logo to the white gold.

I'd go with the LE. As mentioned you can pick a bracelet elsewhere and the display back is awesome. IMO, the LE dial is much better looking than the recently updated navitimer. I don't care for yellow gold or arabics.

The correct answer is the LE. :!:

The proof is that the lawyer said non LE :poke:

In all seriousness - you can add the Navitimer bracelet to the LE 10 years from now, you can't add a DB to the non LE.
