I stopped by the local AD this afternoon to check out the new Lings and to find a gift for my wife. They, Bere Jewelers, had just about every new model in stock. I was most impressed by the new Rose Gold Transocean Chrono with mercury dial with either brown or gold chroco strap w/ deployant. I can honestly say that THAT is the BEST looking watch I have ever seen in person. They also have a rose gold Navitimer, but the Transocean blows it away. The TO even has a display back & 100M water resistance. The price tag is significantly high, but does not distract from its looks. I know that most on this forum do not like watches with gold, but I can say from this afternoon, there is no contest between the Rose Gold / Red Gold Transocean and the "steel" versions in as much as looks go. The gold version seems timeless, while the steel version seems trendy somehow. I will try to get some pictures later this week.

I also saw a new two tone Galactic 36 auto with diamond bezel. I was this close to getting it for the wife. Then I had a great idea. I could get the gold Transocean and we could share wearing it!!!!

i think the rose gold to is a fair price, a sold gold in house chrono for 20k? not bad, the b01 in rose is almost 10k more and its mechanically the same thing!

I did not mean to imply that the price was TOO high, just that it is a meaningful departure from the steel / ti watches I have bought in the past. It seems that our internal price range is ever expanding. I could see myself making the purchase if the timing was right!! In fact, it was your gold Bently, I think it was, that started my desire for a gold B!! The gold TO is a beautiful watch.

Yeah, that piece is really awesome, like from another world.

There was one in Breitling's chalet during last weekend's Sion Air Show and it looked so gorgeous.

Now, where did I put that lottery ticket.....
