They don't even really look like Breitlings to me anymore, they resemble Orients!

Good grief and they took the 41mm Colt Auto and made it 44mm because, as should be obvious, Breitling is over-whelmed with reasonably sized 40-41mm 3 hands and virtually devoid of 44-45mm 3 hands.

The Colt was a very nice smaller crossover watch at a reasonable price. Now it's just another 44mm. WTF!

And don't forget as part of their drive for all in house mechanical movements they put a quartz in it.

Roff, are you saying that they should have put the BO1 in it? This is an opening price point ling...

No, I'm saying that their strategy to move to all in house mechanicals seems to be to eliminate non in house mechanicals and replace with quartz.

My overall impression is fugly, what are they thinking

However the dial is okay, it's the quartz movement and bezel that overwhelm the overall appearance....and not for the better.

Regarding the end links, am I the only one who sees some sort of patterning after the Pilot endlinks on the 01 Chronomat? It's the endpiece that isn't an endpiece. On the Chronomat, I think it works quite well. On the Colt, I'd have to see it more closely to be sure. One difference seems to be that the case edge between the lugs is rounded on the Colt, whereas it is straight on the Chronomat; thus, the transition from bracelet to case tends to look more careless on the Colt, and more appropriate on the Chronomat. Also, it seems to me the Pro bracelet is completely redesigned; it's not just the end links that are different. The skewed asymmetry of the Pro II has given way to a symmetry closer to the Pro I. I actually kind of like it.

I hate the bezel, though, and on the whole, I think the watch is a bust. It looks more like a TAG than a Breitling, and not even one of the nicer TAGs. No thanks.

The end piece design is very similar to that of the bentley bracelet such as the 6.75. The end link is the absolute least thing I'd be concerned with, look at that god awful bezel??? What a piece of crap.

Examples of the end link similarities. Based solely on the pictures, the Chronomat end links look nicer. And I never thought I'd say this, but the Colt bezel makes the Buck Rogers bezel look like a work of art.

It's quite easy to sum this thing up. Bigger, uglier, more expensive than the old Colt. I'm not even surprised by the design inconsistency. I'm so happy to own the old Colt :)

I'm a bit hit and miss about them all being quartz. On 1 hand it will bring the price down and give the breitling range a hard core tool watch range. But on the other hand... There quartz... The old titanium seawolf never had any problems and they where considered THE tool watch. I'm not even going to say anything about that bezel.

Another odd move by breitling.

But it is a work of art  :)

As for the new Colt, it wouldn't even qualify as a Swatch.
