nice watch, but is it authentic ?
not that I would spend the US$ 70k on it, but according to Richter the ref. 799 is 3-register with a small date ring ?????

:yeahthat

Although I would like a better shot of the bridge engraving, angle makes it look weird. The paperwork obviously helps this one, but the price is sheer lunacy. I notice that it's another example of the dial having both Fab. Suisse and Swiss Made.

sometimes (most,, actually) I have no time to go through Richter to verify things, but only have a look at the lists at the end, there "799" is defined as "3-register with a small date ring", is Mr. Richter confused or am I ?

There are many errors in the Richter list. In the case of 799 there are three registers and three registers with moonphase.

would this not be a great project for this forum ?
an easy to read Ref list for vintage pieces would be a great resource, I would gladly participate with a basic list the experts could comment and correct ?

and, looking at page 40, should the Datora above not have the code 800 ?

Gold "Master Mark" is (if I see correctly) '103'

the "103" was used by :

Baumann Benguerel & Co. 21.7.1934
Jaquet & Etevenard 1957
A. Jaquet 1972
Pro-BoƮtes SA 1977 to 7.2.1995 (bankrupt)

As far as I am aware not a casemaker that was used by Breitling ? , or am I just completely mistaken and was 103 used by Breitling and I just havent seen any (without doubt authentic) Breitling watches yet with this Master Mark ?

I am with Roff on the bridge engraving - its been done recently and not by Breitling. This is a Breitling Dawhora! Beyond LOL on the price!

The price has gone up euro 10,000 since the last time we talked about this watch when it was at eBay in December.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 8FDpQ%253D

A search of "799" turns up our other discussions of these watches, each marked differently. I still think a watch with a case dated 1947 should look like the 799 in the 1946 catalog. In other words, no moonphase.

There are enough of these with a wide variation of cases and movements and markings that I wonder what's going on here. Moonphase mania?

More moonphases around than rattys and if you want to produce a high price, not particularly well documented vintage Breitling those are your options.

the "Dawhora" (copyright chronodeco) is back at a discount of 75%.
no pic of the questionable 103 Master mark this time and, surprise, no bridge engraving.
