Hello All,
I have always read the forum, but never joined til now. I have SA, needing repair to the crystal, there seems to be some spots on the inside, I say inside because i tried to clean it several times and they are not going away. Anyhow my question is if I take it up to Breitling USA myself will they replace the glass on the spot or will I still have to wait the usual 8 weeks for repairs? Thanks for your input :lingsrock: (Purchased Feb. 20, 2011)

Youll have to wait.

What kind of spots are these? Water spots? Smudges? The anti reflective coating is notorious for making spots that seem like theyll never come off. Ive had some that I had to take some rubbing alcohol and an aggressive buff to because they wouldnt come off with a normal wash.

It clearly is under guarantee but as RJ said you'll have to wait if the crystal has to be replaced.

If that is all you need done you can get it done quicker by a watchmaker who can order the crystal from breitling. Where do you live?

Crystals generally run $200 or so.

Can anyone tell me where I can buy an oem crystal for my navitimer world? I scratched it badly. My watchmaker is more than capable of doing the repair and offered to as a favor, but i dont want to bother him with trying to source the crystal for me. This is my daily watch so I really don't want to send it to Breitling...any help would be awesome!

Its going to be very difficult. Breitling restricts parts to authorized service centers. Ebay might be your only [long] shot.

BTW, its unlikely you actually scratched the crystal. You probably only scratched the anti reflective coating. You can have the coating removed if you want.

You will be able to feel a scratch in the AR coating as well. Just an FYI, but its EXTREMELY difficult to scratch a sapphire crystal. Its always a possibility, just unlikely.

any watch maker who can order regular parts can get a crystal, doesn't have to be a service center.

Beitling certified watch repair, right? Not any watchmaker can order Breitling parts.

EDIT: I think I get itnow. My "service center" was a bad choice of words.
