I would put a regular SS bezel on the Mark VI instead of the platinum one thus making the price a little more reasonable

And start production again. :)

I think that's a great idea, Justin. The Mark VI is just another in a long line of great models the great minds at Breitling (who are evidently wiser than us peons) have decided to discontinue.

Adapting my earlier idea to the spirit of this thread, I would like to see a series of "tribute" pieces faithfully recreating earlier classic models. If they want to put an in-house movement in it, OK. Ditto a DB. Also, on two-tone pieces, if they want to use heavier plating to avoid rub-off, I'm fine with that, too. Otherwise, the styling should be exactly that of the original. Of course, deciding which models to recreate becomes a sticky wicket - everybody has a favorite, and some favorites might be less obviously classic than others. Since this is a fantasy thread, my first choice would be the Chronomat 13352. I'd also be interested in seeing the original 1984 Chronomat on Rouleaux. Some Crosswind variant would be cool, too. I'd also throw in a Navi, except that the Navi 01 is one of the few current offerings they haven't messed up, so the need for a retro piece isn't as pressing, imo.

- Blackbird case with the B04 movement, GMT and quickset hour hand - the perfect watch for travelling!

- Airwolf with magnetic pushers/crown for increased water resistance. Non-textured dial with baton markers, and really good lume!

I always thought it would have been a better seller if it would have been priced right. Throw in a in house movement and some sort of bracelet with an easy adjustabe clasp, like a new the new sub, and I'd pick one up. I know those enhancements raise the price, but miht still be more reasonable than having a platinum bezel.

I am concurring on both counts but it would more likely be a sweet dream given the current direction Breitling is taking.

Now, thats a task:

1. I would like to see a Navitimer, 46-48mm diameter, with a B01 chrono basemovement, with an alarm function (powerd by automatic winding like the watch) and a double reserve de marche display.

2. A real worldtimer with an automatic movement, where You also have the corrections for 30 minutes difference (like in Iran, Pakistan, Venezuela) and 15 minutes difference (a few Islands in the pacific). Preferably in a large Navitimer Case, where the bezel is the zone indicator.

3. An "I-Breitling" which offers more or less the functions of an I-Phone on a very small display... :D Just joking...

Now THAT'S the kind of thing I was expecting! Good choices Thomas.

:yeahthat
2 great ideas, but do they really have to be bigger than the current Navi 01 ?

As busy as the Navi dial already is, I think it would have to be bigger. Something would have to give in that format, though if you reduced the chrono function to two subdials as in the Skyracer, it would open up one subdial for a new function and keep a non-giant size.

Eye candy for you JS !. Maybe TT is not for everyone but my 13352 is a perfect understated size IMO at 39mm. bigger does not always mean better.

Awesome! I think my ideal would be stainless, but the TT looks great too. The blue dial looks great on it, too. The 13352 is one of the few watches where I might actually prefer the blue dial to the black. That's a classic you've got there, and a reminder of when Breitling made watches I could actually get excited about. Thanks for posting the pic.

If given the chance to create a Perfect Breitling or redesign a Breitling ...

1. A bigger 46-47mm SteelFish All Polished Chronograph Version

2. All Polished SeaWolf

3. A bigger 47mm-48mm Chrono SuperOcean 1

4. Super Avenger with a Guilloche Dial

5. Wider Croc/Calf Leather Straps

:D

I would love a Brushed SS Blackbird Big Date, with contrasting subdials (silver/white like the black dialed Hercules) with an in house Mvmnt, and display back. And offer an analog UTC module as an option !
