I stopped by my AD yesterday and tried on a couple of the new models (SO 44, Skyracer Raven and Chrono SO 44) and was very dissapointed. :( Breitling watches has always been known for its stunning wrist presence combined with classy masculine strength and elegance but is no longer present with these new designs that came out. Two other cujstomers who were also there made similar comments about how the newer models looks cheap and no longer commands attention.

Breitling has clearly lost its WOW factor and APPEAL. :guns:

agreed, but I think you're preaching to the choir on this forum...

Agreed... I checked out Breitling's lineup recently at a store, and was underwhelmed. Certainly not awful, but just not the "great" that I would have expected. :(

Agreed that Breitling has lost much of the "wow" factor that they used to have across the majority of their line up, but they do still have the Avenger, Super Avenger, Navi World (on bracelet), Chronomat 01, and pretty much the entire Bentley offering that still have the bling factor.

I don't know if it is that they have lost their bling factor as much as they have lost their "tool" or instruments for professionals look IMO.

This thread indirectly raises an interesting question: specifically what quality or qualities made Breitling great, which are currently missing? I submit bling was not and is not one of them. There are still plenty of blingy Breitling offerings, as John pointed out. I tend to think the greatness was in the classic styling that was at once functional and stylishly upscale. Lately, Breitling has moved away from functional, and has moved past upscale into pure garishness. Also, a lot of the styles are no longer classic or timeless, but emphasize trendiness, and will not stand the test of time. For example, in my opinion, the Chronomat 01 already looks a bit dated, whereas the ten-year-old Chronomat 13352 still looks fantastic.
