I have a super avenger for about 4 months now and I love it but.....about 4 weeks ago the bracelet stopped snapping shut. The safety latch engages so it does not fall off. I am not sure if there is somethign wrong with the bracelet any advice ?

Sounds like the sides of the clasp need bending inwards very slightly. I suggest you get an AD to do it, because if they mess it up they'll be liable : if you do it yourself and something goes wrong, you'll be liable.

That said, it's a pretty easy fix with a pair of pliers, provided you a) protect the clasp by wrapping the pliers jaws in tape of something, and b) you go very very careful. However, I am in no way suggesting you try it yourself : get an AD to do it. (Just my disclaimer there! )

thanks. I will have to check out where to haev it done. I am assuming AD is authorized dealer ? I live in WV and we have no dealers here so this mught be a bit tricky. thanks though.

From one of my articles on another Breitling forum...

Deployant Clasp adjustment procedure...
On the deployant clasps for Breitling bracelets, I have had to adjust at least 1 out of 5 to ensure proper closure/release. On these bracelets, the curved "T' piece (the one with "BREITLING" engraved on it) can be carefully adjusted with two forefingers and thumb while holding the rest of the clasp between thumb and forefinger of the opposite hand. Squeezing the two forefingers and thumb together from either side of the curved piece will either shorten or lengthen the piece very, very slightly. Because the piece you are adjusting is quite stiff it doesn't really feel like you are making any difference in the "curve" (hence length) of the piece but you are. Repeated closing and opening of the clasp will bear this out. The "T" will then snap into and out of its receptacle with a different feel of "stiffness". It goes without saying that caution is in order here but the procedure does work I assure you. For your strap deployant clasp, using the same procedure will adjust the closing/opening "stiffness" of the clasp cover over the bar for capture/release. I made this adjustment on my Mom's watch (below, now my granddaughter's) and it worked just fine. Again, be careful and work slowly...

I guess that's another way of doing it Ron. I've used the way I described once myself, but I can see that this way of yours would work too.

Wow that worked great Ron, Thank you both so much for your help. I have repaired it myself !!!! I no longer have to worry about it falling off.

Just re-read the OP's post, and for some reason I red it as a problem with the flip-lock/"security latch", not the clasp itself. Oops! Good thing Ron stopped by!

BUT, if you have a problem with the security flip-lock part at any point, then my way will fix that!

thanks driver8. I am glad that I did not take a tool to my clasp I would have seriously screwed it up....LOL

Its unlikely that youd cause any damage unless you are completely incompetent. You dont even really need a tool as your hands should be strong enough to do it.
