I sold my last one only last month and found myself missing it straight away, I've now purchased Blackbird Big Date number 4, when will the madness end?! :?

I guess this is one Breitling that I aways have to have, this one isn't going anywhere for a while.

Hi shalako! I'm glad you found another one. I've completely fallen in love with this watch too. I still can't believe they are discontinued!

Here's a Q&D pic from holidays. I hope all's well!

The Blackbird is awesome! :cheer:

I sold mine to fund a 6.75 and had if left for anything else I would definitely be kicking myself. I needed something bigger, but if money wouldn't have come into play I would have kept the BB. It's still hard to believe they dropped it when you look at most of the new offerings.

Here's mine, it's been talked about here before but I'm curious and a bit worried about what will replace the Big-Date.

When word came down they were discontinuing it, I had visions of it returning with a Buck Rogers bezel. Then Breitling introduced the Galactic Chrono II this year, showing that my horrible vision was, in fact, reality. Only it is more insulting than horrible when you consider the GCII is nothing more than a repurposed Evo. It's doubly insulting, given that it is in the form of the long-coveted, never-delivered brushed Evo. (Why, Breitling, why???) What they will end up doing to the Blackbird is anyone's guess, but the current trend among Windriders is not encouraging. Not at all.

I saw one on a black calf at a dealer in York earlier this week so there is still the odd one or two new ones around, must say though, not a lot else in the window caught my eye in the Breitling range.

Saw some nice Chrono Swiss watches, one with a Tourbillon, no prices though, it was one of those kind of shops..............................

We also spotted plenty of vintage watches around in the antique shops in York including a couple of B's, but I also noticed an Orange Monster for £189 and a massive Ingersoll automatic for £129 (a lot of watch for the money, cheap Chinese movement aside).

The BBBD is a great watch and one that I might pick up again one day, I don't really regret selling my last one to buy the black dial Olympus though, that has been one of my proper grail watches for a long time so I'm glad I manage to snap it up.

Stef

yes :) this breitling has some effect on me and most breitling/watch lovers, complete watch

everybody likes this watch

i saved money for 1 full year so i could buy it...and i did... it felt so good, i dont use it quite often as the chrono avenger or omega but i simply love it
i would never think on selling it... it always was the breitling grail watch for me
Image

some people sell it... no wrist time or too small and all the excuses in the world but once they come across a decent picture of it they want to buy it again ... its a stunner watch

The reason I never got one is it's too big for me. I had to really resist, too, because it's a stunning watch, as you say. But having already had problems with fit and comfort with my Evo, I knew I'd be in for more of the same with the BB. It broke my heart in a way, because it probably would be my grail Ling if not for that.

I hear ya. I've owned the same watch twice, and still have buyer's remorse. I see another one in the future.....
