Personally though when I look at watches, I prefer a non-silicone movement. I have a Breitling World, I don't believe it has silicone, please correct me though if I am wrong?

Watch movements don't have silicone parts; said parts would be made out of silicon. (There is a difference: silicon is a chemical element used in microchips, watch parts, etc.; silicone is a polymer used in cosmetic implants.) That said, why do you prefer movements that don't have silicon? Generally, use of silicon for certain movement parts is considered an improvement over traditional materials. (Although other companies, such as Rolex, have turned to other non-traditional materials, such as the Parachrom-Blu hairspring, which is made from a non-magnetic alloy.)

And, for the record, yes, I am taking this topic of conversation seriously, and am not using it merely as a backhanded way of discussing certain members' attributes. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

He probably doesn't like silicone movements as much because they feel very hard compared to the natural feel of a non-silicone movement.

Forget high school. I think we're talking junior high here. (Actually, that's a lie. This is pretty much standard operating procedure for every male I know, regardless of age. )

First Country Clubs. Now Breitlingsource. Is nothing sacred?

You might have the upper hand on knowledge of Breitlings Sharkman, but I would run circles around you on the golf course... or by country club did you mean the 19th hole?

As for sacred- I'll stay out of the mens room so you can have that...

These days, when silicone is used in everything it's rare to have a completely silicone free movement. Whether the A23322 in the photo has silicone or not I'm not sure, but then again I just started learning about Breitlings.

Again, it's silicon, not silicone, and that is patently not true. 99+% of Swiss watches have no silicon anywhere near them.

In terms of other comments, let's try to remember that this is a family friendly watch forum.

You must be referring to the older silicone movement models. Technology has greatly improved this particular product over the years. The new silicone movement feels and operates almost identical to that of a non-silicone movement. It will continue to function just like new for decades, no need for support.

I most certainly do not want to upset anyone but I find the comments light-hearted and g-rated and I am a mother of 4... well 3 not including Jeremy.

Wait, you're Jeremy's mother? I thought you were from Texas, not Arkansas.

Hmm... I think a recent photographic evidence of this wonderful new technology is in order. To add to the body of knowledge for all of us here at BSource Jr High of course.
