I have to agree with Driver8... now that I've seen the steel bezel version again, it just looks so much better than the raven model. I wasn't a fan of the rubber pusher inserts either!

I had this one up until a few weeks ago: the Airwolf Raven Reno LE (traded it for a Blackbird). Silly rubber bits aside, it is one of my favourite Breitling SQ dials. I wouldn't mind getting a logo dial Airwolf again sometime.

I really wanted one of these for a while! Not the Raven version but the previous year's model which had a steel bezel. You could've swapped the bezel over if you'd wanted, although you'd have still had the rubber inserts on the push-pieces. I always loved the Reno dial - great logo.

That is a really nice watch congrats! Has anyone seen the limited edition reno air race airworlf? Its pretty neat-o!
What are the amount of orders you need to commission a custom watch like that if you dont mind me asking?

Awesome pics of the Reno LE Airwolf. BUT, I still prefer the brushed metal bezel vice rubber. We needed a minimum of 25 orders...as coordinated through BUSA. It was very impressed with the process - very professional. Although the 9 - 11 month wait was excruciating. Basically, an associated sent out an "all call" message in June 2010 to all three squadrons (and HQ staff) to gauge interest in LE Breitling. He made a suspense of about 2 weeks to get back to him with our level of interest. We had a choice between the Aerospace or the Airwolf, with the Aerospace running about $800-$1,000 cheaper - depending of the number of orders placed. The majority wanted the Airwolf. As stated in an earlier post, he solicited payments thru November 2010, and the order he received our checks dictated which number sequence we got (I was the 10th person to submit my check). He submitted one check to BUSA in December 2010 - and 7 months later...viola!

Congrats on the new Airwolf! I hope it gets a lot of flight time!

I have to admit...I'm too nervous to fly with it yet! I'm still enjoying the "newness" period, waiting for the first scratch to occur. I'll bring it on my sorties once I've overcome the "keeping a delicate eye on it" phase!

Usually my B01 because it helps me keep the exact time of my flights since I keep a very precise and detailed record.

Outstanding! Love it. During my last tour in Iraq in 2006, we tried to get the Aerospace. But we had too many cheap bastards in the squadron and not enough orders. I would have gone with the Airwolf or even the custom Emergency. So we ended up getting the Omega X-33 which were considerably cheaper. Great watch, but the customization is engraved on the case back, vice logo on the dial. So I did pick up the limited Airwolf this year comemoraring the 100th year of Naval Aviation. My dad and I earned the same wings - combat aircrew, so this is a tribute to him as well. Great job on your squadron for getting those great pieces!

That's really cool Don. :lingsrock:

But you could have gone ahead with the order in your squadron and post the rest here on BS.

I contacted my AD!!! I was in the Air Force and worked in the AFSOC squadron on the Gunships and Talon II's. This is a must have for my collection. If anyone has any suggestions or can point me in the right direction to acquire one of these, please tell!!

Great case back, 46crew. Love the personalized features! And nice Naval Aviation LE Airwolf as well. I saw a few at my AD and compared to my own LE as I was getting the bracelet sized. And F14D_Tomcat may have a point for using BS in reaching required numbers for future LEs. I know that after we placed the order, we had a number of others come out of the wood work wishing they had heard about the offer before it was too late. Now they're kicking themselves...

A good friend and a member of our rival squadron (Talon II units) is currently seeking interest level for a Talon II version. If it starts to gain traction I'll post again - stay tuned!

It always works that way. I wish I had bought two X-33's, I know folks would have wanted them. Sadly, my CO lost his in a hotel room. It has his name engraved on the back, and a simple "google" would tell who and where he is. He is now in command of a larger group. I recently became aware that HMX-1, the President's Helicopter Squadron did a limited Aerospace and a limited Colt. I was part of that squadron from '87-'93 and would love to find one. :?

Shadow,
I havn't flown with my Naval Aviation Centennial LE yet either. I wear it to the squadron but place it in a Breitling service/traval box right after the flight brief. The SH-60B is a bit rough to crawl around on and pre-flight. Great looking watch....enjoy!
