Hi guys,

I just received this Superocean and was pleasantly surprised with it's condition but not so happy with it's operation.

The watch is not hacking when the crown is pulled. There is also a slight "pop" feeling when winding. Thoughts on the hacking? The watch was purchased in 2004 and made in late 2003 as per the stamping. Papers do match the serial.

Thanks all!

All indications are this is a legit post 2003 Superocean. It has the standard Breitling 3 hand/date movement - caliber B17 based off the ETA 2824-2. The movement has a hacking mechanism. If you are pulling the crown out far enough to advance the minute and hour hands, it should hack and stop the second hand. If it isn't hacking, the watch needs to be serviced.

There's a problem in the keyless works if the watch isn't hacking, and as Tom suggests it may well be a simple servicing issues - if it hasn't had one then it's overdue anyway.

Thanks guys. My AD verified all looks good. The seller has been great and basically offered to take the watch back or pretty much split the service. I think the split service is fair so I think I'll head in that direction.
