Hey in process of buying a breitling travel case (the one usually returned from service centre). I think I like the idea of the long version but somebody just told me the square might be better. Which would be best for chronomat evo- the long slim version or the more square version? Or is it much of a muchness? Anybody use these? Thanks

Im in the same predicament. I think the long version would be easy to store (in a bag, briefcase etc) but the square version may provide better protection but will be bulky.

I just purchased the long version and will see how that works.

What do these sell for? I have two I don't need.

Ive seen them sell for $30 each.

I use the long version for titatium & steel bracelets watches and the square one for leather strap, croco ... and rubber band with deployment clasp, it's easier to get the "original form" in this travel case.

I am interested in the long version. Did you get yours through an AD or do you have to go through BUSA?

The newer version has better protection in my opinion.

I like having one downstairs so after a long day at work I don't have to go to the watch box.

I picked up two of the long style from Goonermike. One of'em is in my backpack at all times, and saw use this morning, when I rode my bike to work in heavy rain. The other is just in case, really, but it's good to have.

Also, I've heard more than one cautionary tale about idiot security guards at airports, carelessly moving the bins about, causing the watch to be thrown out and the crystal crushed. While I think the people who had this happen to them might have been a bit careless themselves, I don't wanna risk it, and the long case fits better in my carry-on than the large round one that came with the watch does.

I usually keep my watch in its case on my nightstand at night, and try to do so even when on vacation.

All three of these reasons was more than enough for me.

When I travel on business, I always have a travel case in my carry on. At security, my watch goes from wrist into the travel case, and in the carry on.

I've also just wrapped the watch in a Breitling poishing cloth and put it well into my shoe, but that provides less security.

When I do put it in the carry on bag, my eyes never leave the bag until it's in my control again. If TSA "needs" to inspect my bag, I politley, and quietly tell them there is a watch with great sentimental value to me (don't want to say "EXPENSIVE") in a case in the top of the carry on and ask them if they would be so kind as to inspect that first and then hand it to me. Never had a problem with that.

So even if you travel with only one watch, you need to do something with the watch on your wrist at security screening. The travel case is the best I've come up with.

And ever since getting reemed by the loud TSA lady at the metal screening in San antonio - "Well it's that big-ass watch you're wearing! What were you thinking?" - I take it off. Thanks again big-ass (literally)Texas lady for letting half the airport know they might want to "posess" my watch!
