Went to Tourneau today on Madison Avenue in NYC, and right after I went in the police came. Apparently, someone stole two watches both worth about $12,000 each. Does anyone know anything about this? Curious what they got or where I can read up more.

I was at the tourneau on Madison a few weeks ago checking out a Portuguese yachtclub. Whilebi was there someone tried to bolt out of the store with a rolex. If you knowing store, I was o. The upper level and I could see down to the east side of the east side of the store where the rolex section is as the doorman and two sales guys attempted to grab him, all tolling on the floor causing a massive scene.

Just for the record, I don't support tourneau, they were just the only people I could find with a yc in stock to peek at

So appearantly it is a crime to steal a watch? And the cops will pursue the "alledged" thief? Interesting.

Tourneau is just about the only store on the upper East Side that you don't have to "buzz in" to enter. I'm sure that's what attracts the thieves. As I posted during my trip, they are "the devil you know"; don't deal much, some seamy sales people, but they have tremendous variety and a tremendous amount of inventory. They had more JLC than Wempe, and they were the only store where I could put a JLC next to a Glashutte next to a Blancpain in the models that had my interest. Yet, downstairs, they have tons of G-shocks, Suuntos, and lesser watches. I had never seen a Vulcain before until I was there last week. I'd much sooner buy from the boutiques or Wempe, but they are the ultimate showcase for variety.
