Same here. Too tight and it hurts, too loose and it irritates me BEYOND WORDS!

Confession time - a few years ago I had a quartz SMP with the Speedmaster style bracelet, and as most of you know, most Omegas lack any micro-adjustment on the clasp : you get a half link and that's it. Bizarrely the Bond/Seamaster bracelet can fit me perfectly - I had an auto SMP that fitted brilliantly - but the Speedmaster style bracelet just couldn't be adjusted exactly right : it was either too loose or too tight. Deciding on the lesser of two evils, I went with the too loose option, but it bugged the s*** out of me the entire time I owned it. One day when it had been flapping about my wrist particularly annoyingly, I just snapped and literally ripped it off my wrist and hurled it across the bedroom onto the bed, whereby it bounced off the bed and took a chunk out of the wall! Amazingly the watch was completely undamaged, but I still can't believe it irritated me to the extent that I'd lob a £1000 (as it was) watch 10 feet across the room with enough force that it would bounce hard enough to damage a plasterboard wall!

Nowadays I only buy watches on bracelets that have a micro-adjustment facility unless I'm able to try it properly sized first. A poorly fitting bracelet annoys me so much that I just flat out refuse to take the gamble any more. (Straps are usually OK as they have a bit of give in them).

You should learn to relax more.

This is what I still don't understand about the Swiss watch industry. It seems most higher end brands do not incorporate a micro adjustment into their bracelets, which makes no sense to me for pieces costing $5000 up to many times that. Breguet doesn't. VC doesn't on their Overseas. AP on the ROO and RO. Then of course Omega, but at least they have a half link option. (One Speedy I had included a 2 position micro adjustment.) I could go on and on. The ill fitting bracelets were a big reason I ditched several Omegas.

I don't understand why so little thought/effort goes into making the bracelets wearable.

I once did that with a cell phone - completely destroyed the cell phone, didn't ding the wall at all. In that case, the irritant was my (now ex) girlfriend on the other end of the call.

Per the original conversation, I always err on the side of the bracelet being too loose. I can't stand a watch that is too tight. If it sits at the top (or is that bottom?) of my hand when my arm is at my side, I'm fine with that. If it's loose to the point of looking like a ladies' bracelet, that's too loose. But as has been said, wear it the way you like it. There is no right or wrong...although, I personally think that if the bracelet is tight enough that it creates the "squeezed sausage" look, it just doesn't look good aesthetically.

I like them a bit loose. Less constricting.
At the narrowest part of the wrist I can just slide a pencil between the bracelet and my skin.
I may tighten it up a bit on heavy watchs.

I like mine loosly tight if that makes any sense  Not to tight that it's restrictive; loose enough that in the heat when my arm swells there is still room and not too loose that it slides up and down my arm with ease. That's not much to ask is it  I will say that I do not like pins in a bracelet, the chance of bending one during adjusting is just too high. I much prefer screws.

Mine are fairly loose, I can move my Navi World about 3/4ths of the width of the case down my wrist. I am not able to give it the "runaround", though, i.e. move the watch all the way around my wrist.

You've just put your finger on the problem with bracelets, at least for me. If I adjust it so that it isn't too tight when my wrist swells in the heat, it will perforce end up being fairly loose when my wrist contracts when I cool down, which often is within just a few hours. The Rolex Glidelock clasp effectively solves this problem. Hopefully more watch brands will incorporate a similar feature into their bracelets in the future.
