does anyone have any info on them. i was on the website but only see the steel ones. is it a limited run, or ? this is a link to a review i found i read on one link the msrp on it was 10k, but like i said i was on the omega web page and cant find them. any help would be appreciated. thank you

I thought it's a standard model, and price would be around $9000-9500. I think JacksonStone can help us out on this one.

Sheesh I like that watch! However as much as I like it and would love to own one, I equally dislike that price! In that price range it would be difficult to pass up a Breguet or a JLC. Shame

Sorry, I don't know how I missed this. I'm as much in the dark as anyone else. I have not read anything that says whether the new Liquidmetal POs are standard or LE, despite some otherwise comprehensive reviews, at least of the three-hand version. Omega still doesn't have them on their website, despite the fact the new standard POs are now featured. Price seems about right, since the three-hand Ti LM was set to list around $8k. I'm not sure if the price hike would affect it or not. If it does, and if it's the rumored 10%, then the three-hand will be selling for closer to $9k, which would likely put the chrono into the $10k range.


I'm inclined to agree, but I don't think they're as nuts as Breitling. Unlike with Breitling's offerings, the responses I've seen for the new POs - especially the LMs - have been pretty positive. Also, the $8k - $10k would be for the LM editions, not the standard, which are more reasonably priced (although still spendy). The LMs are unique editions, featuring titanium cases and bracelets, and the high-gloss Liquidmetal/ceramic bezels and ceramic dials. Then there's the movement, with the two-register chrono, which gives you a different type of chronograph for the cost of the upgrade. With the 01, you've still got the tri-compax layout, which is practically no different from the B13; you may know it's different, but in terms of actual use, it isn't. Omega's prices are more than I'd be willing to pay, but I'd say you get more for that $10k than you do with a comparable Breitling.

As usual, I post and then do my research. A blog entry written back in May said the PO Ti LM Chrono will launch in October, and the suggested retail price will be $10,500 on bracelet. Again, no mention is made whether or not it will be limited edition. It seems likely that if it were intended to be limited edition, somewhere along the line somebody would have said something about it. So, I'm guessing it will be a standard edition.

Edit: A knowledgeable member on The Roles Forums says the new LM releases will be standard, not limited.

I agree 10k is a lot, but like Jackson said, I don't think Omega are anywhere near as far off the mark at Breitling at the moment. This PO uses grade 5, which is the only grade of ti I'd ever personally consider as it's the only grade used in watchmaking that isactually harder than steel. Breitling's grade 2 is much softer in comparison. Also, Omega are using their Zirconium (i.e. ceramic) based "liquidmetal" for the bezel, plus the 9300 in-house which has a pretty innovative register display. AND these Seamasters are serious lookers IMO. Personally I think the 9300 looks much nicer in the Seamaster than it does in the new Speedie.

While we can debate who is nuttier at over $10K, both companies are going to force their fans to do some serious mental conditioning. I agree you get great features in terms of movement, ceramic and the chrono style with the PO, and it's gorgeous, but on the WIS sites we can see pristine pre-owned POs with 2500s in them (admittedly non-chronos), beautiful in their own right, for around $2500. JLC chronos are what, higher but maybe 12? A Breguet XXI, new, is I think about 11,500. Though not in chrono, I think a Fifty Fathoms is about 12,600. Just too close to too many great watches which I would take without hesitation over a PO no matter how technologically advanced and feature-laden it is.
