It's obviously dependent on personal taste but, as Roff said, nothing really upsets me.

Except maybe a diamond bezel (or diamonds in general) on a man's watch.

I'm embarrassed to admit my TAG Link quartz has diamonds on the dial, one for each hour marker. Aside from the fact it's like putting lipstick on a pig (I know that now...wish I did back when I got it), the diamonds don't look bad at all. They're small and quite subtle. Otherwise I tend to agree with the sentiment against diamonds, although I do think Breitling's diamond rider tab bezel is done as tastefully as possible.

In my defense, I didn't know jack squat about watches when I bought it. Before signing up here, I'd had my Evo for three years, so I'd like to think I'd repented for my sins by that time.

I took real courage to come clean.

Having a pet peeve about where the date wheel is located is kinda silly.

Does a blackbird look bad because it has a big date at 12? NO
Does the FF look bad because its between 3&4? Hell No
Does a Montbrillant Olympus look bad because the date is an actual wheel with a hand? Nope

Position of the date wheel is far too nit-picky. Putting the date wheel is a different location from the standard 3 or 6 position gives a watch some extra character.

Respectfully disagree.

If Sergio were to buy you a Fifty Fathoms or Navi 01, you'd be silly to turn him down just because of the date windows.

Is there some secret contest I'm not privy to?

Well, yes, but that's not the test for a 'pet peeve'!

Well, let's see...

A magnifying glass over the date port
If it is square/rectangular
"Bling", i.e. stones of any kind
Light-weight - I like to know it's on my arm
Gold
Digital
Not having a bracelet
