Just picked this up and the seller posts it wrapped in a plastic bag in a box with wadded up paper. The crown snapped off in shipping. The crown and crown shaft actually hold the movement in position within the sphere. Now I have to find a place to get it fixed properly. All for the sake of some styrofoam peanuts and an oversize box. :x

It looks like to me to be gold plating over pot metal. Would have been nice if made out of brass.
