First post, so go easy please

The story so far: About 6 months ago I purchased my first Breitling watch - stainless steel Avenger Seawolf, black face with batons. After wearing it for a while I realised the clasp of the bracelet was causing me some discomfort. Soon worked out it was due to the fact the two long sides of the clasp that lie on the underside of the wrist (sorry can't think of a better way to explain) were almost sharp. AD sent the watch back to Breitling and it was returned about 4 weeks later with a replacement clasp. What a difference. Bracelet now very comfortable.

While the watch was away I started searching online to see if anyone else had experienced a similar problem and stumbled accross this Forum. Cannot believe the knowledge people have here. Learned loads about Breitling and now realise one is not enough

To feed my habit mean time I have decided I'm going to buy a rubber strap with a deployment clasp. Before I do it can anyone answer

1) The Diver ProII strap feels a bit 'stickier' than the Ocean Racer strap. Are they made of different rubber or is it becuase the Ocean Racer has grooves on the inside of the strap. If anyone has both which do you feel is more comortable?

2) I also fancy a leather strap on deployment. I've seen from previous posts that the Breitling leather straps don't fit into the clasps for rubber straps and I'm too stingy to buy a seperate deployment clasp for a leather strap Do any other manufacturer make leather straps that would fit?

1) I tried both and I prefer the Ocean Racer strap and its Ocean Racer clasp (and its "reserve") is better than the regular Diver Pro II or Ocean Racer bracelets with their tang-type buckle.

=> They are different, you can not use one with other, but an Ocean Racer Clasp is better... (here it costs in France 350€).

You won't regret the money invested in , trust me.

The only way to get a leather strap into the OR deployant is to have the strap custom made to fit it, which might end up costing you more......

I own a couple of each - Ocean Racer and DPII - on the deployment clasps.

I'm not sure if the rubber formula is different, but the two straps feel and wear different. The DPII is more supple and IMO much more comfortable on the wrist. At first I was disappointed by the bland appearance of the DPII. Inevitably, when I switch straps I opt for the DPII - it has a clean and somewhat classy look (for rubber that is).

No surprise, I'd recommend the DPII. More versatile all around.
