I'd be remiss if I said the thought hadn't crossed my mind. However, I don't want to from the money for a lawyer, and also, I really don't have the time or energy to go the lawsuit route . . . unless sharkman has some time on his hands.

I take back everything I said. The watch is still broken. When I start the chronometer, the minute counter jumps ahead to the first minute. I know another member had this issue, but this is a first for me. I'll be calling BUSA tomorrow to let them know. However, I'm not sending it back to them anymore. I'll wait until I'm living in the UK and send it to Switzerland around the September time frame.

Breitling- the gift that keeps on giving. FML.

That's so unbelievable! Maybe it's your environment and it will function properly as soon as you're away from it.

I really don't know what else to think, after so many trips back to BUSA AND a new movement. :wowzers Would be really interesting to see BUSA's reaction to your call.

If you're planning of bringing the watch yourself to Switzerland, just let me know, I can drive you there. Assuming you'll have the time to care of that in September.

That's why I was asking.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. If you have a chance ( after the big day of course :D ) could you try to put up a video of this minute hand issue. I would be curious to see this.

 Jeez, sorry to hear this saga is still going on!

The thing is, I remember when I first got my hands on a B01 and was looking forward to seeing the much vaunted "clean start" to the chronograph, but to my surprise it jumped forward a second just like a bog standard 7750. I remember writing a post about it here at the time. I'm going have a look at my mates Chronomat B01 when I next have a chance to see if that's the same.

EDIT - Sorry, just re-read your post Bozman, and I now realise you are taking about the minute counter, not the central second hand. Crickey, this is nightmare for you. Hope it all gets sorted asap, although I'm pretty sure your faith in the watch has totally gone by now.

@F14D_Tomcat, I may take you up on that offer. Maybe you can FLY me there!

@Chrono, aside from my iPhone camera, I don't have a video camera. If I do get a minute, I'll give it a shot with the iPhone.

@Driver, there are clearly some issues with the B01 movement, as the problems are not isolated to me. My Navi 01 is working flawlessly, so I know Breitling is capable of producing a functioning movement. However, I certainly won't be buying any additional B01 based watches anytime soon.

Sorry...before going into all the reasons why a suit won't work, I figured it would be easier if I just asked what you had in mind. The short answer is no, or at least not likely, although ultimately Bozman would have to consult an attorney who has knowledge of the laws in his jurisdiction. If Breitling refused to service the watch any more, then there actually might be grounds for legal action. But assuming Breitling continues to try to make good on its warranty, then Bozman hasn't yet suffered any actual damages. It hasn't gotten to a point where any lemon laws would kick in (assuming any lemon laws would apply to watches - typically they only apply to cars). Punitive damages are out, since there is no evidence to suggest Breitling is doing this intentionally. What's left? Pain and suffering? Emotional distress? I'm sure to us WIS's, this sort of thing might rise to the level of emotional distress, but it wouldn't in the court's eyes.

Simply as a matter of good customer relations, Breitling might want to consider giving Bozman more than just a properly functioning chronograph. But legally, they likely aren't required to.

Sure, anytime.

As for the flying, maybe you can take a back seat on the Albatros. The airport at Granges is just a 2-min drive from Breitling HQ.

I just got off the phone with BUSA. All I got was a verbal apology. Naturally, they wanted me to send the watch back to them, which I can't do because of my relocation to the UK. I'm going to try back later and try to reach the technical director to see if he has anything more to say.
