Same reason as we call the bit at the back of a car the 'boot' and you guys call it the 'trunk'. And the bit at the front of car we call the 'bonnet', and you call it the 'hood'. i.e. probably absolutely no reason at all for the difference as far I can tell! :thumbsup:

A French invader? That's news to me. Normally, it's the other way round. :nana:
