The Breitling Watch Source Forums

So I have my Breitlings and I love them all. I wear my SO's to work mostly, but my job requires me to get into some grimy and dirty situations from time to time and I'm realizing I need at least one additional watch (maybe two) that isn't quite so precious and expensive that I can wear into any and all situations (price in the $500 range; give or take). I also hoping that the one or two new ones I buy can be my workout/beach watches potentially....I've been looking at a bunch, but I don't know what's what outside Breitling. There's lots of knowledge on here and I'm hoping you guys can help point me in the right direction.

Standard answer - Seiko Monster

Ha. Yeah I saw that other thread with photos of that watch and I do like it a lot.....but I also like options, and it's a little small for my liking.. Do you have any other suggestions?

What about a Tsunami from Jake B who has taken over when Noah left us. Or maybe Blue Ring or Laguna from Jason over at Halios. As a third alternative, how about the Frogman from casio? okay, one more - a recent contract Marathon on the used market would withstand the apocalypse and look rugged doing it.

I have one and its perfect for those times where you want to wear an automatic and not care about something happening to it.

Also check out Deep Blue watches and Helson divers. These two get great reviews over at the Dive Watch forum on Watchuseek.

FANTASTIC Info!!! You guys are all always so helpful.....good news is within an hour of my post I've been opened up to a sea (no pun intended) of new diver watches....bad news is now I have NO CLUE what to get.

Probably going to get two. Keep the suggestions coming if anyone has any.

I cannot see how at 42mm the Orange Monster is too small for someone who has a Superocean and a Navitimer . I also have an Orange Monster for days that are just too rugged for my Breitlings . Best bang for your buck on the market .

I just went though this looking for a work watch. The monster seemed like the perfect watch but I really didn't like the way it looked. I wound up getting a Seiko skx009j1. It's a great looking watch, IMO, and it's an auto and it was only around $200 shipped. I couldn't be happier.

Well, my SO is a little small for me although not so much that I don't wear it. Of course it's 16+mm thick vs. about 12mm thick for the Seiko, which makes the SO wear bigger.

As for the Navi. It's a World. You missed that part.

A Few Breitlings.

No I haven't. I'm actually going to check some out now from multiple brands...and I actually do want one of them to be either orange or yellow face so we'll see....certainly throw some pics up if/when I get them.

Probably worth a look at the Steinhart divers as well, although they may be a little higher than your ideal price.

That aside I'd also vote for the Seiko Monster, and if you're not bothered by quartz, some of the Seiko Kinetic divers are well worth a look as well.

Ingersoll Diver? Really reasonable.

That's what I was going to suggest. I bought a Steinhart GMT Diver in January and it's a great watch. I never wear it and probably will sell it soon, but it is still a great watch nonetheless.
