What is the proper way to measure the wrist? I used a tape measure and got 6.5", which I was worried about for the Breitling World, when I went to the jeweler they measured my wrist at 8" (?!?!?) which just seems way out there and finally settled at 7" which meant all extra links in the bracelet had to be removed. The watch fits snug and all lugs are on my wrist, I like the way it looks, just looks like a big watch. What's the proper way to measure the wrist? Thanks

It's not rocket science - just wrap a tape measure around it.

Soundls like someone misread the measurement.

Wrap a piece of string around your wrist, mark it to a comfortable length, then measure the string. Or for $4.00 buy a Bergeon 6789 measuring band.

Wow if they removed ALL the links it's a bit hard for me to believe 7" is correct. At 6&1/2 I always have one or two removable links left, even on the SOH46.

All that matters though is the watch fit.

If you have all the links removed there's no way your wrist is 8", which means the AD got it somewhat wrong when they measured your wrist. I know some AD's are a bit lacking in knowledge at times, but not being able to use a tape measure properly really takes the biscuit!

I would definitely understand 6", but the Breitling World fits really nice, doesn't look gaudy or pompous, pretty surprised (it's white).

I've never heard of a 6" wrist on an adult male of normal proportions. I guess it's possible, though. Conversely, 8" is pretty massive, although not too uncommon. I'm inclined to think your AD got it wrong, if for no other reason than he eventually "settled" on 7". As Roff said, it's not rocket science. Anybody who gets such widely varying measurements on something as easy to measure as a wrist is clearly challenged in some fundamental way. Just take your measuring tape (I'm assuming it's a flexible one, like tailors use) and measure again. Ten to one you got it right in the first place.
