OK, I'll augment my choice with one that's a little less obtainable: Blancpain Fifty Fathoms on bracelet, with sapphire bezel. It becomes even less obtainable when you consider that the size I want is one they don't make: 40 - 42mm. If they made that size, it would stand a good chance of supplanting the Sub as my grail. The current FF has one of the most awesome lume patterns I've ever seen (although the IWC Aquatimer is pretty darn sweet, too).

On a slightly less exalted plane, I don't know if they quite reach grail status for me, but there are some older-generation Lings that I'd be perfectly happy with, too. The a13352 Chronomat springs to mind.

There actually is a FF in a 40mm version. It was made about 8 years ago for their anniversary. Looks exactly like the FF just in a smaller size. See attached

Sorry, no such single watch exists.

:yeahthat . It does not matter how bad I may want a particular watch...if I got it there would still be at least one more that I would lust after.

+1

Congratulations: you just showed me a watch that meets all three criteria. Limited to 150 pieces, I'll likely never acquire it. Granted, the one on TZ still appears to be available, but at $12.4k, it's out of my reach in any practical sense. Seriously, though, thanks for pointing me to that watch. The only 40mm FF I'd been aware of was the one with the metal bezel; I still like that one, but not like the sapphire bezel.
