I received my Breitling World, I was worried it would not be authentic, but had it checked out when I got it resized and it's real. Curious though, how come on the stainless steal clasp is a B in a square instead of the wings? Thanks!

I took these pics with my webcam, I apologize for the quality. Also........even though the watchmaker didn't question authenticity, he sees various watches throughout the day - I know you and those on this board are Breitling gurus, could you please let me know your thoughts as to authenticity.

I noticed the slide ruler part takes some force to move it, moves smoothly, but you have to push pretty hard - is that normal? Are these watches automatic, or are they mechancial - do I need to wind the watch, or as long as I wear it or put it in a winder it's okay?

Is this 46mm? I have a fairly small wrist but it fits fine to me. Last question, what do you think about sleeping with the watch on? I did this with my Tag with no problems, but looks like this kind of watch will scratch easier.

Thanks for your time!

Watch is real, bracelet is just older style.

Information on the watch is on the site - http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... er_52.html

It is automatic (which by definition makes it mechanical) and won't need winding if you wear it regularly and / or keep it on a winder.

In terms of sleeping with your watch - that's up to you, I think it's weird but plenty of people here seem to do it.

One more question - is the slide rule supposed to be fairly tight?

LAST QUESTION - what happens if you try to change the date between 8 pm and 3 am? How does the watch know if it's 8 am or 3 pm rather than 8 pm and 3 am? Sorry for the stupid question, but curious.

You know search really does work......

Tight is a relative question - it's supposed to stay where you leave it, but not need to be forced. Most of mine require a reasonable amount of effort - i.e. you grip them between finger and thumb rather than just nudge it with a finger.

In terms of 8pm - 3am, if the watch has a quickset date and you use it (or wind time backwards) in that window then you run a significant risk of bending or breaking one or more teeth on the date change wheel - an expensive repair.

To be sure that you aren't 12 hours out then the safe approach to setting the date is:

1) Set the time to after 3 and before 8 (that way am or pm is irrelevant)
2) Set the date to the date before today
3) Adjust time forwards through midnight to change the date and then set the correct time. That way you can be sure that you have am / pm correct.

What are signs of damage if you adjust the date between 8 pm and 3 am? Thanks

Yeah, can also be that the date doesn't always centre in the window on certain dates.
