AD says it is rubber molded just as Superocean 42 with steel edges on bezel

What it is, is the Colt GMT+ presently sitting impossible to sell in an AD near you. (or as one AD used to routinely lament, "We can't give these things away").

They simply turned the bezel from SS into rubber and turned the SS bracelet into rubber (and it isn't an articulated bracelet like the first publicity pics made it appear). That's it. Plus, I guess, this LE has some queer coloration on the dial.

No thanks.

I don't like the red second hand and writing with the green - horrible colour clash.

I assumed the red hand was the 24h Gmt hand? And the silver was the 2nd hand?

But green? Yuk! It's a shame as it isn't a bad price at £3100 UK rrp.

Out of curiosity....which material, sapphire or ceramic, is considered more durable, scratch resistant , etc.? I have had my eye on an Aquatimer 2000 for some time, but the Sub-C gets all the love.

That's a really good quesetion...I'd like to know that awesome as well. I'm gonna say that Ceramic is more scratch resistant than sapphire.

I have no clue. As JacksonStone says Sapphire is second hardest to diamond, so I doubt that scratching is a practical problem with either.

The other issue is that it's not that simple - asking how hard ceramic is is like asking how hard rock is, there are so many different types of ceramic.

A little belated but that are my thoughts exactly. The GMT+ was always a slow seller, so I guess they had plenty of cases (and dials) leftover. The rest, as they say, is just history and to the image of the latest models with another rubber bezel.

There maybe a reason why these models are called "LEs" though: it's a subtle way to sell them to collectors.

Make that bezel orange and I'm in.

+1 on the orange.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I really like the rubber bezel.

I like the number font a lot more than that standard SO2. At least it doesn't calsh as greatly with the bezel font. As the rubber bezel... well we've all said it all before. I hate it too.

I say sapphire and ceramic are both not only scratch resistenat, but susceptible to shattering. Id guess that sapphire is better. Ive read too many reports of rolex owners shattering their bezels. And with the platinum inlays... havent read anything about a sapphire bezel having issues.

As for the OP.. I think it looks okay, but the integrated lugs are terrible.

I prefer this over many of the other new designs. It would look even better with a satin finish. But for £3100, no chance - ever! The TO LE is gonna be my last purchase. Now that IS the most beautiful thing Breitling have done in 30 years.

Just what was wrong with steel bezels anyway? I'll grant you I like the look on the new Sub and GMT, but for a true sport watch I still see nothing wrong with steel. I don't know the makeup of the IWC bezels, which are really nice, but in all other respects, I prefer a color bezel in steel to ceramic or rubber.

:yeahthat Breitlings look exactly as they SHOULD look IMO with a nice stainless steel bezel on them........ with a pearl, especially if it's a diver's watch......... and rider tabs are good too....... oh and non-Buck-ified numbers are nice as well. Erm, in other words, exactly like Breitling bezels USED to be!

My opinion, too. The classic Windrider bezel with rider tabs is a classic Breitling look. With all the talk of other brands I've been doing lately, I have to admit that looking back on Breitlings past still gets me drooling.

And mine. SS is the still the best option for me.

That's a weird watch. Don't like the green bezel, the lugs are big, the dial itself is okay and the strap looks great. Hmmm...
