To anyone interested, this is a fake. I compared it closely several at the local AD, and also looked in their master dealer book. There are some very slight difences in the cuts and angles in the machining that give it away but it's hard t tell. So I am getting my money back. I will say though that it is one fine quality piece. The quality is no different than the original. The metal work, the finish, the hinge, the micro adjuster, all perfect in every way. We studied it for twenty minutes with a loupe. Be careful. One dead giveaway though is the massive vanilla smell. It's not even good vanilla. Its a bad bad vanilla.

I wouldn't be so mad if I had not paid genuine money for it. At least the Chinese fakes sold on the replica sites are advertised and priced as fake. I paid $387 for this thing. The price made me think it was the real thing. At least most fakes prices are too good to be true so you can usually tell.

Or me, or almost my local AD, as they had a hard time telling holding in their hand.

I would not know if the chocolate or vanilla or bubble gum scented rubber straps are any longer in production in the Breitling straps. I just purchased my second breitling rubber strap set at the AD in The Mall of The Emirates. Where I have purchased my other breitling watches and accesories for my airwolf and aerospace as I left my other set with deployment clasp back home in Manila. The latest rubber straps are not at all scented. I enjoy wearing the rubber straps with deployment buckle as it does not easily show wear (scuff marks) where on the stainless steel bracelets do. I have learned that you don't save anything at all when you consider the amount of stress you take on when you consider second guessing yourself if you purchased unintentionally a counterfeit product. I will continue doing business with the guys at the AD and avoid the headache.
