EWWWWW The blue dial and bezel on the PO doesn't work for me BUT the black dial w/orange numerals looks AWESOME!!!!!!!! That was always my favorite combo and the revised version really looks good.

Thanks, Otto. That shows a better perspective of the SMP. About the only thing I'm not thrilled with is that date window, but otherwise, I think they did a nice job updating it. Did they redesign the AT, or is the only thing new about it the fact that it's gold? They already have a gold AT, so I'm not sure what the difference is. It looks chunkier to me, but it could just be the wide angle lens.

Edit: I just noticed someone commented that the thing he likes best about the new SMP is the date window. Go figure. I don't hate it...just don't love it. It's a pretty minor detail, though, on an otherwise great upgrade.

I haven't seen a blue ceramic I like yet, from Rolex and now Omega. Don't know what the problem is there. I do like the hour and minute hands though on the new PO. For an SMP, though, I'd still just as soon have an old black SMP with the Speedmaster bracelet. Since I want a nice "beater", I have my watch guy on the lookout for a quartz one (I know, sacrilege) so I can golf, do whatever with it and be without significant maintenence costs.

I'm not a fan of the blue, maybe it looks better in person. That Speedy on the other hand is outstanding.

The new chrono is a beast! Beautiful looking watch and great specs. The only downside for me is the size, I hope they release a smaller version.

I think Omega have hit a home run with these new watches.

Great pics - thanks for posting!

As an Omega fan, I love the new designs, but I don't like the blue at all. i'm also not a fan of the ceramic bezels - they're just a bit too shiny for me. From what I've seen of my friends' watches with ceramic bezels, the rest of the watch will "wear" evenly over time and the ceramic bezels will continue to look "new." So after awhile, you have a watch that wears relatively evenly, but the bezel always looks new....not for me. I'll have to admire from afar.

So the new po is to have a 8500 movement as standard? or is that a special addition?

It's gonna be standard with the 8500, hence the ridiculous new price tag. Beautiful though.

Thanks, Justin. I had seen some of those posts before, but I had missed the post on the SMP.

I'm under the impression all standard POs will be 8500-based going forward; chronos will have the 9300. The SMPs will keep the 2500. So far I haven't seen any SMP chronos in the new lineup.

The rounded edges, as opposed to the squared-off edges on the older model. I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Sometimes it reminds me of old television sets. Other times, I don't mind it so much. Either way, it isn't enough to put me off the new model.

I also like the blue-dial Aqua Terra. I know some people won't like the black date wheel, but I think the window surround helps offset the effect somewhat. Also, I can't tell, but it looks like they might finally be introducing a black-dial Aqua Terra. I wish this website was in English, because I'd really like to know the details.

I liked 'em after Basel, and I still like all of them............ except that diamond encrusted thing, the AT (which I always find a bit dull), and the orange rubber strap. All the rest look great IMO, especially the Speedie.

That PO with the orange Arabics looks pretty slick... the revised Speedies are meh... but then again I love the vintage Speedies so that's coming from a purist point... that blue just doesn't work either... maybe if it was a bit darker... almost navy then that would've been awesome...
