If you won $50,000 to spend on watches (taking into account your usual discounts) what would you spend it on? Would you go for one amazing watch or would you use it to buy a few great pieces?

With average discounts (except for the XXII) here is what I would go for.

Glashutte Senator Chronometer

Breguet XXII

Rolex Exlorer II 42mm

DISCLAIMER--I may have to try this more than once:
1. Blancpain Fifty Fathoms--12or so?
2. Patek Nautilus chrono like Altair just got--22?
3. JLC Reverso duo--You can get a nice one pre-loved for about 6 and change.
4. Basic stainless large Royal Oak-- 9 or 10?

The Fifty Fathoms is non-negotiable. I would consider subbing a Lange for the Patek, that would be my toughest call. I could also sub a Glashutte PO for the AP. I also want an original IWC Cousteau. When I go to New York at the end of the month (Tourist's request coming as the date nears) I want to see the VC. But the first list, combined with what I have, would leave me deliriously happy.

If I had a $50,000 windfall I would probably buy a single piece - something that I wouldn't even consider otherwise. Maybe an RM010 or a JLC, RGM or Zenith Tourbillon.

With 50K I would probably stick with a 5 watch rotation. I am thinking of a whole upgrade to my line-up instead of just additions.

I would want the basics....if you can say that about a collection of that sorts. Diver, Sports Chrono, Casual Chrono, Gold Dress, and a wild card. Not sure if I stayed within budget, but I bet this is close.

I'm like Roff. Just one, maybe two. One of the IWC Perpetuals and maybe a AP RG Rubberclad.

Rose gold Lange 1 Moonphase and a black dial VC Overseas Chrono. I don't even have to debate it.

You pretty much nailed what I'd pick. Just replace the Vacheron Constatin with a ROO Safari and I'm good. Maybe throw in a Speedy Pro just cause I really want one.

The IWC puts you way over. So sad, you'll have to settle for the GO, ROO, DSSD, and TWO Navis.
