Looking at the leather deployment strap, it's not fixed to the strap with a spring bar or screw.

Does anyone experience any slippage or even worse... the watch strap coming away?

I got one on Saturday and love it!

I have a two-tone that came with my watch (Chronomat Evolution) and didn't want it to get damaged at work so decided to get the leather deployant strap. I got this as the person I bought the watch off had a buckle and it looked very worn, to the point where I thought the leather could break.

So after 5 days of wearing I give two thumbs up. It certainly doesn't slip, the clasp is the same as my TT and therefore extremely secure and you it feels comfortable. I'm not a leather strap kind of person too but the look is really growing on me.

You should not have any issues with the strap "slipping" out of the deployant buckle. If anything it is a plus because it makes it infinitely adjustable. The only really valid complaint I have heard of it is that it is slightly long for people with smaller wrists...and does not sit balanced on the bottom of their wrist, but "climbs" up the side...which is uncomfortable. Outside of that...it is a great buckle.

The deployment is very secure. I didn't think thy were worth the money until I got one. It's really comfortable and being able to adjust it so finely makes it so much better than the tang in my opinion. Plus it seems to be a lot easier on the strap than the tang so anything that makes a $300 croco strap last longer is well worth it.

Also, with the deployment clasp not having a safety release, does anyone find they sometimes accidentally open/unlock the clasp?

My girly wrist is 6.75 inches and i find it fine. I've never had the strap slip out and never had it come undone. I love the clasp because the straps last so much longer and look much better than the tang (imo).

First off it's deployant rather than deployment, easy mistake that I think we all have made. Second get one! I would say 90% get on really well with them.

A new decent clasp is very secure so no probs.

It is secure and I have had no "slipping" out of the buckle but I am one of those smaller wristed people and I find that the strap is too long and makes the under side slightly bulky and it does force the watch to turn some on my wrist. I'm sure there is a fix for this but I love my watch so much I can't be bothered at the moment.

I never had any issues with the strap slipping or the deployant accidentally opening. As a matter of fact there's a way to adjust the tension of the deployant-- something I learned courtesy of this forum. As people said above, it's easy to get just the perfect length. It's also supper easy to take the watch on and off. That was the main reason I bought one.

Once I got it though, I was disappointed with the way the bottom of the strap loops away from the wrist. It looks bad and gets cought on a sleeve cuff easily. One side of the strap is wider than the other near the deployant which annoys me. Worst of all, and it seems like it only happens to me, the inside portion of the deployant digs into my wrist to the point that it causes my wrist to go numb after a few days.

I think the tang is much more comfortable and looks better. On the the deployant/ strap combo all you see is a small portion of the deployant . The rest is hidden.
The tang is much nicer looking from the outside. Plus, the keepers and overlapping strap give it some classic detail.

I attached a photo of the strap not laying flush to the wrist-- very annoying.

Peter, how new is it?

I'm guessing new. They take a bit of time to bed in and part of that is getting more flex.

I would advise against forcing it as I have seen torn leather.

I am with RXPete on this one. I have tried to warm up to the deployant but it just does not suit me because the strap / buckle are raised and the flatness of the buckle make it uncomfortable. I prefer the tang buckle.

The one in the picture was brand new.

I tried it again with a broken in preowned strap but I'm having the same issues. So now I'm on the hunt for a preowned croc on tang.

@spursfan: you won't have any issues with slippage. Price however for a croco strap is another story. It could be more expenses than 210 pounds. I just bought one here in Canada for what I think is a good price; $500 CAD which is roughly 323 pounds
