Well, I finally cracked and snapped up a Sub C. The GMT had to make way for it, but no regrets so far! I'll post a pic soon (even though you all know what they look like).

Congrats Otto!! Sorry to see the GMT go but if it had to go then there is no better watch to replace it with. ENJOY!!

Nice one Otto!

There's a lotta love for the Rolex here these days! I guess it just goes to show that when a company listens to consumers (i.e. the old bracelets and clasps were not in keeping with a modern watch, etc) and more importantly when it acts upon it, people will be more than happy to embrace a brand they perhaps hadn't wanted to be involved with before.

With the new models (SDDS, Sub C, GMTc, etc) Rolex have acheived something of a holy grail in terms of advancing a classic design while still paying hommage to the past. Sure a few dyed-in-the-wool Rolie fans don't like the new models (especially the Deepsea), but generally most watch-folk really like them. And I'm one of them!

Congrats! The new Sub C is awesome. The ceramic bezel is virtually un-scratchable. I have the GMT C and love it. Plus the new movement is amazing. Wear it in good health.

Awesome. What was behind the decision to trade the GMT for the Sub, btw? I know why I'd take the Sub, but I'm curious about your ideas on the matter.

And I couldn't agree more with Driver's comments. Breitling should listen.

Thanks guys. I decided to go with the Sub rather than the GMT because I prefer the brushed look, and I am a dive watch fan at heart. The Sub C seemed to combine a lot of the features I like, not to mention the awesome clasp. It's exactly the sort of watch I would choose if I could only have one. :D

Here it is this morning after its first trip to court. I still haven't taken all the plastic off  - will do that today.

It's such a classic design. I'm feeling warmer about Rolexes every time i look at one.

That looks great on your wrist there Otto. Very nice indeed. I may have to go and retry on a non-SDDS sometime soon!

That looks fantastic Otto, a perfect size for you. I know what you mean about the plastic too, it stayed on my PO for like a week  Enjoy the watch
