I guess I should point out a couple things. One, as should be clear by now, I have a definite bias against big, chunky, heavy watches, due to my own experiences with them. So, my comments should be viewed with that in mind, and taken for what they're worth. Two, the Bentleys I've tried on didn't seem nearly as heavy as - and they also fit better than - either of my two Lings. I don't want to be alarmist or put someone off Breitling, or the Bentley line, unduly. I was just offering up a point to consider. As I've said, a lot of people do just fine even with something as massive as a Super Avenger.

I find the 6.75 and SA feel pretty much the same to me, just the SA seems to wear slightly bigger. The fact both are very comfortable for large watches makes the weight much less of a factor. A less than perfect fit would be a bigtime deal breaker. I sold my SA to buy the Bentley but some day I could see myself buying another.

The models I tried on were both GTs. In checking the stats, I see the GT has a 44.8mm case, compared to 48.7mm for the 6.75. That still makes the GT slightly bigger in diameter than the Evo, but it seemed to fit more flush with my wrist, and generally seemed more comfortable than the Evo.

Rolex and Omega might be ones you want to check out.

I've still got an Omega and have had a few others. Personally I'd stay away from their automatic watches and stick with the quartz. The movement just isn't very good any more. Other than that, they are lovely watches and hold up well.

I'll second the comments above about the size. I've had a couple of large Breitlings (Steelfish) and I found myself whacking walls and doorways fairly often because they are so much larger than what I'm used to. No damage to the watch, but it is disconcerting to have a multi-thousand dollar watch hit something hard.

Some of my friends with Submariners have had very good long-term success with them. I wish I had bought one back when they were almost reasonably priced...

Why do you say that? Are you referring both to their ETA-based and in-house movements, or one in particular?

So after a hiatus on the topic I went looking again yesterday. I hadn't checked this thread first or else I would have remembered about the above suggestion, which is a model worth looking into. I've decided that I am ok with a larger case and I found myself drawn to the Bentley models. Specifically, I really liked the look and feel of a steel Supersports. I was also shown some alternate straps and I was really surprised at how much different the overall look was when the case was paired with steel vs leather vs rubber. It really does make the unit far more versatile. I haven't made a final decision yet, but I am seriously considering it.
