Hey guys, as of the past few years, my tastes have changed slightly. I recently parted with a watch I thought I would never part with, my Super Avenger Blacksteel. It is a great watch, and looks cool and tactical in my camouflage uniform. But as I near retirement, I could not see myself wearing it ten years from now. With all the recent price increases, I am not going to be buying any new watches in the near future as I've already purchased two new ones (my SS SA and Airwolf) this year. That's about the limit for my budget. I've decided to be a little more analytical when it comes to buying or trading watches. So I made a bold move, and traded it for a gorgeous PAM 299. I have always liked Panerai, and this is a truly gorgeous piece in my opinion. I still love my SA and Chrono Avenger too, but am more attracted to the classic pieces. Last week I also picked up a pre-owned Chronomat Evo from a new guy here. After a little work with the cape cod, it looks new. I will post pics when I get home. I always loved the black dial, silver sub Evo, and now I have one. Now with my Rolex, Omegas and Breitlings, the PAM adds a nice bit of diversity.

Thanks for letting me rant, just curious to hear you opinions on the PAM, and if you have had similar changes in taste.

Cheers,

Don

The 299 is awesome since I love the bracelet. Pesonally, I'd have gone with the 328 but you can't really go wrong with either. I'd be set with the GMTII and the bracelet Panerai.

Congrats on the 299...I didn't used to like Panerais on bracelet, but the more I look at them...the more I like them. You can always add the straps later.

I think you made a great move selling the SABS and picking up the Evo and 299...it adds a lot of diversity to your collection.

Thanks Jason. You know our favorite AD will be able to give you a fine deal. :D Thanks for steering me in that direction.
