I apologize for the quick video and poor review, and the lack of pictures but time is unbelievably tight these days and I will make up for it with detailed pictures later on!

Here is the vid (also wanted to show off my new knife and the wonderful Patek cigar case):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3_qO803xlc

First off let me say you never can appreciate what a Patek is until you own one, the entire experience is exemplary! Everything from the boutique to the sale staff to the exquisite packaging screams dedication to customer satisfaction! Seriously the quality of packaging is unbelievable, the box is drop dead gorgeous and the leather and paper is top notch stuff!

The watch itself is simply breathtaking in real life and has to be seen to be believed, the workmanship is unparalleled except by Lange in my experience and I have to say Patek got this one right! I was surprised when they released an Annual Calendar in a steel case! That meant that I could own a complicated Patek with a celestial function!!

As you can see, the dial is perfectly symmetrical and shows the day, date, and month in apertures while the lone subdial at 6 shows the AM/PM indicator in 24hr format as well as the moonphase display. The moonphase itself is exquisite! The dial has a gorgeous fading grey tone that is complemented by white gold indices and markers, the blue moonphase contrast nicely!

The case is a nice 43mm size and wears quite well, especially for a dress watch. Yes this is technically a sports watch according to Patek but in my categorization it is a proper dressier piece that goes well with a suit or casual wear. I love how Patek designed the calendar correction pushers in perfect symmetry to the case to match the dial!

The movement is Patek's prestigious 24H caliber with 347 parts, and can be seen through the caseback. The finishing is simply unmatched in my experience, may be higher end Lange can compete. The finishing cant be described in any other way than simply flawless!

The alligator strap is, as expected, of the highest quality imaginable and the clasp is very comfortable and well engineered though I have to say I find it odd that you have to unscrew it to change the size!

I cant say how much I am enjoying this watch and how many people have stopped to comment on it, many of whom are not watch people! Again pics and video do not do this watch justice! It is my favorite piece by some margin and has got me thinking of adding another Patek, the blue Nautilus chrono.

That's beautiful. The moon dial adds so much to that dial...gorgeous!!

Interesting song choice...Fortunate Son...one of my all time favorites.

Wow. I've never really lusted after PP before this clip. Well done! You're definitely right about quality of finish.

Awesome stuff Altair! I had the pleasure of trying that very watch on at a Patek event run by my AD recently, and it was actually my favourite Patek by some margin. Very nice piece indeed. I've said it before (and I'm sure I will say it again!), but you are amassing a serious who's who of top flight watch-makers. Superb stuff.

Every time I watch one of your unboxing videos, I find myself wondering if its the first time youve opened it or if you box it back up for the video. Inquiring minds want to know!

Nice choice btw.

Amazing piece. I admit to walking right by the Pateks at my local AD because it seems beside the point, but if I'm going to make a truly fair assessment of the brand, I need to gather the courage to try a couple on.

The video clip i just saw puts the pics to shame that PP displays on their site. And something tells me that seeing this piece in person pushes the boundaries of what is visually seen on camera up another level. The watch is beautiful. Congrats and enjoy.

Thanks for the comments gents, it is an extremely nice watch and I am delirious about the purchase!

Actually I put the watches back in the box and simulate a first opening, I am too impatient to wait while I set up the camera! I do feel that opening up the box adds to the video of watches and a wrist shot is essential as well.
