I changed the date on my Black Bird at around 9am a couple of days ago keeping in mind the 8pm - 3am rule.

Now the date is not changing during night but around 11am. It is irritating to see the previous date when I look at the watch in the morning.

Can some one help me out in this regard?

Pull out crown and follow the simple rule of not changing it between the 8 pm and 2 pm, set the date on day before the actual date in question eg. 12th of june set it to 11th then chang the time once threw the 12 until it sets to 12th and then trew again if you hav too to set the time.

It will change date on 12 midnight.

At the risk of stating the obvious, are you sure that the time isn't just out by 12 hours?

Timezone's advice worked.

Now my question is how would you know on a Big Date Black Bird that the time is 12 hours off? It migh be a dumb question but question nonetheless.

Well then this may be a dumb answer.......

The date changes at noon.

no no I disagree with that adivce,

Set it down on a small table and sit on a stool, use another watch pref chrono and time the hours...12 hours later ..Bob's your uncle you have your answer.

Another question now that we're on the subject - The Blackbird has a quick-set date, but is it an instantaneous date change?

If so, does this mean it actually has the 8pm-3am "danger zone" or can you change the date at anytime without risking damage (a la the B01)?

No there shouldn't be a danger Zone for a quick-set date wristwatch.

Turn the crown counterclockwise to unscrew it. Once the crown pops out, it is in Position 2. Position 1 is when the crown is screwed down.

Pull the crown out one notch. You will feel the crown "click" when it reaches the first notch. Now the crown is in Position 3. Turn the crown clockwise to change the date. The watch will continue to keep time while you are changing the date.

Push the crown in while turning it clockwise to screw the crown back to Position 1. Fully screw in the crown to make the case watertight.

Whoa - hold it there.

Quick set date watches are the only ones that have a danger zone - no quick set date mechanism, no separate date change, no risk of stripping teeth.

The watches that don't have issues with danger zones are ones with instant date change (B01, Cockpiut, etc). The BlackBird is not an instant date change and does have a danger zone
