I assume from his current collections that he would rather spend the money on precious metal than higher compications, but with what he already has I would be looking for a higher complication SS, and probably specifically the JLC Master Grand Reveil - perpetual calendar and an alarm - http://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/la/en/w ... and-reveil

I'd take that Glashutte Chronometer in a heartbeat over the other two. It's less expensive and the finish and quality is just as superb.

Of the three, Lange. The JLC deserves a closer look, too.

The title of this thread cracks me up. How is this in any way urgent? Finding blood in my toilet after my morning BM...now that's urgent. (That didn't actually happen to me. I'm just sayin'....)

The Grand Reveil has been on my list for a long time. I love this piece. My only complaint is that it does not have a display back, but that's clearly becasue of the mechanical alarm. I'm sure the sound is much different (and worse) when it's reverberating off of sapphire crystal.

Thanks everybody for your tips and comments. Because of them, I managed to appear a pro with high end watches and could give him some direction!! The hunt just ended! He finally picked up the Blancpain. He was leaning towards the ALS but the Blancpain is what finally caught his fancy. A little over $35K.
I also thought it has the right mix of complications for the price vs. the others and actually preferred it over the previous choices on his shortlist.
