Hi,

I was wondering if someone can tell me whether the 24 hour hand on the Colt GMT is supposed to rotate with the 12 hour hand while setting the time on the 12 hour hand? Currently, when I change the time on the 12 hour hand, the 24 hour hand rotates with the 12 hour hand.

I just bought the Colt GMT, which is my first Breitling, and wanted to know whether this is a problem with the watch or not.

Not a problem. GMT hand will rotate with 12 hour as you describe.

To set:
1) set 12 hour time first to time desired. (crown pulled all the way out)
2) then set GMT hand separately via instructions, GMT will set independently of 12 hour hand, (crown pulled out to date change position but rotated in opposite dir. of date change).
Also note that when setting GMT hand it will index to proper position between hour markers to correspond to current position of minute hand.

I just want to confirm that my question makes sense to you and other people. So when I change the local time, e.g. for daylight saving etc, I have to then correct the 24 hour hand as well?

Colt GMT is a less common GMT movement than the Navi World, but I don't believe that's the case.

If you pull the crown out to the second stop (time set) then both hour hands should move. If you have the crown at the first stop then only the GMT hand moves (opposite direction to date change).

Whenever you want to change the offset in hours of the 24 hour vs. the 12 hour (regular hands) time, the 24 hour hand will need to be adjusted independently. Going on and off daylight savings time will change this offset relative to to true GMT (UTC) time.
