I have a Breitling Mark VI on a Breitling croc and deployant. I tried to break it in but no matter what I do I think the croc and deployant combo is very uncomfortable. The inside part of the deployant digs into my wrist and after a while feels like I'm getting carpal tunnel syndrome, or at least what I think carpal tunnel syndrome would feel like. I even turned the strap around thinking that the deployant would rest against a different part of my wrist, but that didn't help much.

I currently have the watch on a cheap leather strap but that strap is much more comfortable than the breitling strap. I want to buy a high end croc strap to go with the quality of the watch. I want the strap to conform to my wrist unlike the Breitling straps. I want the strap to be padded but not with a stiff material like the breitling straps. I like the look and feel of JLC and IWC straps. Is there anything out there with the same quality and comfort as those? I'd prefer a strap that tapers down to 20mm so that I could put on a Breitling tang buckle.

Peter,

Have you tried the Breitling Croc, but on a Tang buckle? Deployants are great on some, while others hate them. If you're comfortable with a cheapy strap at the moment, you'll love the Breitling Croc on a Tang!

apb-paris is a pretty typical answer. Stonecreekstraps will make you whatever you want for less.

I tried the OEM deploy too and it just wouldn't work for me at all. I go with the tang straps and and aftermarket bi-fold deploy. works for me.

Have you tried the straps you mentioned? Do you know how the quality compares to OEM Breitling? What kind of after market bi-fold deploy do you use?

I have a Breitling croc on tang for my Motors T. It's not the most comfortable setup but I think the size of the Motors has something to do with it. That watch may be too top heavy for a strap.

I also have a calf on tang for the Mark VI. The OEM Bretiling may be the way I go if I can't find anything else. I was hoping for something more pliable.

I've tried the aftermarket deploys that shark mentioned and they didn't work for me. I had to return it because it wasn't for me.

I use short tang straps of necessity and very inexpensive bi-fold deploys. They work fine for me. I do not like Breitling tang buckles at all. With the sharp leading edge it cuts up the strap. And I’m too lazy to unfasten off the wrist and refasten on the winder. Single fold deploys, especially the Breitling ones, are too bulky for me and often rest too far off center. One member here tried these clasps and didn’t like them. They work for me. At about $40/per, it’s a cheap experiment.

ABP is probably the best that you can buy. Super high quality, and you can order just about anything you could imagine.

shark i like the double folding clasp you got set up. reminds me alot of how my corum works.

In that it's a bifold, sure, but it isn't the heft and quality of OEM bifolds I've had from other brands. Then again the OEMs might run upwards of $500 depending on the brand. These ones are but $40.

The best aftermarket bi-fold clasp I've ever owned is the unbranded Panerai-copy that I have on my Lum-Tec M25 -





It cost about $40 (I think) from eBay and it's superb quality : very similar to Panerai in terms of quality and at a fraction of the price..... plus it's available both polished or brushed.

The only drawback is that it's designed to work with straps that are very thin at the "hole" end - i.e. those designed for panerai deployants. Great if you have a strap custom made by ABP ; less great if you want to use it with a standard Breitling tang and buckle strap 'cause it ain't gonna work.
