Has anyone picked up either the new SuperOcean 44 or the SuperOcean Chrono? I was at my AD today and had a chance to try on both. I have last year's SuperOcean with the blue inlay and I actually like the look much better than the new SO 44 (although I much prefer the 44mm). I do however think the SO Chrono is fantastic looking. Especially with the white framed sub dials.

What did not like about the new "44" I am very interested in picking one up but my 2 local AD's do not have any in stock and say they are not coming until the mid-late summer. Is the case brushed? Is the bracelet brushed?

Keith.

My AD had a few. There definitely isn't anything I didn't like. It's a great looking watch. I just think last year's design has a little more "pop". The new one just looks a little plain now that the color has been moved from the in-lay to the second hand, "Superocean" writing and a little square around the date. Just my opinion....case is the same as last year's. The three I saw were all on DP II straps so not sure about the bracelet.

I didn't inquire about the prices as I was there picking up my new Steelfish :) but if I were you I'd look at the new SO Chrono. Now that one I really liked.

Good hunting and be sure to throw up some pics as soon as you get one....btw ADs definitely have them now. Maybe try and call around a little.

Thanks for the update. I am going to take a ride to the AD this afternoon before heading to the Beach for the Holiday weekend here in the States. I love the look of the Chrono, but I have a Chornomat and I am looking for a non Chorno watch for everyday use and swimming during summer, that is why I want it on brushed. I also love last years Model with the color, but I am looking to tone it down just a bit...

Thanks,
Keith.

They are definitely in the stores. The case is brushed in the same fashion as the Steelfish. The bracelet is brushed.

I've had the pleasure of handling the new chrono version. I wasn't expecting much after seeing the press pictures but I had a pleasant suprise.

It is a superb looking watch with great wrist presence and secure heft to it. The finishing is of a very high quality. It has a lot of design elements but is not too busy.

However, the price did seem a little high for what it is was.

Now, where have we heard that recently?
