I don't know if this latest PO has been discussed, but I didn't find anything doing a cursory search. A new review on Watch Talk Forums gives a good look at the new in-house, titanium, ceramic-bezel Planet Ocean. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the price tag, but I honestly never thought I'd see a PO topping the $8k mark. Still, it's a pretty sweet watch overall - definitely in the James Bond league.

The new Omega in-house prices are eerily similar in price to some of the new Breitling in-house models. Guess that's where we are heading cost wise :( .

I'm beginning to think I'll be priced out of these brands soon. Look to snap up some of the older models on used market I guess.

What a rip off. Breitlings prices dont seem half bad after seeing that waste of dough.

All new Planet Ocean models come with a four year warranty, which is pretty good to see. I really like the new chronograph model!

+1. My two favorite brands are gating too expensive for me.

The new PO is pretty hot though.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I cannot justify breitling and omega at those prices  nice as they are.

It's a beautiful watch with many high quality elements but I agree with others here: It still doesn't compete with the new Submariner Ceramic for desirability.

Maybe desirability but not quality. Also, I think the stainless steel version is in the $6k range and it's available in a lager size.

I personally disagree with the "preferring Rolex" comments guys. I'd much rather have one of these new PO's than a Rolex Sub - much better size and just look at the display back! (Makes me wonder why the Breitling Chronomat LE had such a reduced WR on account of the DB though when Omega can still retain the full 600m WR. :huh). Obviously I'd rather go for the steel version than ti (being the ti-phobic that I am), but I think the new PO is a very nice piece.

Now if it was a choice between a PO and a Deepsea, then the Deepsea would win hands down, but against the ordinary Sub? No thanks. PO every time.

FYSA the Australian RRP for a standard Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph is $8200 even with the AUD at $1.06 to $1 USD.

Just putting things into context with how good prices are in the US and South East Asia.

Now that's silly. And here we've been bitching about Breitling's prices.
