OK so the Superocean is gone and I took cash and this
Image
although seriously disappointed with the Lume  although it is a 54 million serial no which puts it in 1993

so I was thinking of getting it relumed but Bry 1975 is not taking anymore work in, I saw the efforts of another dial refinisher but was not impressed at all, So either does anyone know a good Lume guy or should I just get a new dial?

The second thing the hands are really bad as well and I have never liked the skeleton hands on these so should I replace
these hands

with these ones

I much prefer those style hands and they are in keeping with the watch however it will be modded will it affect the value? would it put anyone off buying the watch if I choose to sell it? Should I just leave the hell alone and be happy with what I have got?

Opinions welcome but be polite

My opinion is that if you mod the watch, it will affect the resale. Just me, but I wouldn't ever purchase a modded higher end watch. Seikos are one thing, an Omega is different. That's just me, though.

I'm with you on the skeleton hands, don't like them. However modding it seems like more expense and isn't worth it. My suggestion is: sell/trade it for a 2254.50 - best of both worlds IMO.

:yeahthat IMO. I personally like the skeleton hands, and at the end of the day they're part of that watch's design, so I'd never consider changing them if I was you. And yes, you most definitely WILL affect resale price if you change. Stick with what they came with mate. JMO.

Admittedly, I'm not a fan of the skeleton hands. However, if you got the watch for "you," then it's totally up to you. I agree with others that it would most likely hurt the resale value - but if this a long-time keeper for you and the different hands would make you happy, then go for it.

If you want to change them go for it, but I know that I personally skip right past modded watches.when I'm checking our for sale threads.
It is a cool looking watch though, I like the ss bezel and the non-wavey dial.

I don't "love" Omega but, my thoughts are: if you mod it, you best love it because you will not sell it without taking a beating. On a more happier note, modding a watch seems pretty cool. I was on the Rolex forum earlier and saw a large posting showing different modded watches. Really cool.

Would it not work out better to sell it, then buy one of these, great lume and solid hands. The picture was taken after I bought a new Toshi strap.

thats a 2254 and I love them I kept a 2255 for around a year and didnt think I would ever sell it but then my B1 came back up for sale and I wanted that more. The whole idea of getting the bond seamaster was as a cheap working beater watch so I dont want to get something else expensive for just working in.
