First of all I want to thank everyone in advance for your help! It's a great forum.

First I'm a contractor whom works very hard in a extremely rough economy. Long story short I have been doing a renovation on what should be a sweet job for me, however its been anything but. Anyways the crux of the story the rich guy is going bankrupt, his assest have mostly been seized. Im out over 20k. After heated discussion, he has given me a duck boat worth 2500.00 which I have taken possession of & he offered my this Breitling Bently which he claims will more than clear the debt. However he will no let me take it to a jewler nor will he get it apprasied...I need help, I have held the watch and though I'm far from any kind of expert it seems authentic from what I have been able to locate online. However I have GREAT concern.. the chronographs seem to have different numerals from any pics I have seen, as well as there seems to be a second serial # under A25362 which I also have not seen in any other pics, the guy claims the bezel & band to be REAL and claims value of 5k I doubt this also...these are pics he sent me, he said any Breitling expert could tell it was authentic immeadiately?? If this watch is REAL I need to take ownership as soon as possible & sell it, this guy almost has me in foreclosure from lack of payment!

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

sorry, but clearly the watch is a cheap fake.
I can not say anything about the "diamonds" on the bezel fro. the pictures, but the rest leads me to assume they are Swarowski crystal at best.

re the "Bentley". sunken date, wrong subdials, wrong bezel font, no chrono. Worth about the price of a cup of coffee.

The "B" and anchor on the centre sweep usually give it away as well, far too heavy, and wrong gap between fluke and loop on the "B".

It's a very obvious fake and any Breitling dealer would confirm that - the 'diamonds' will also not pass muster. It's worth absolutely nothing.

If he meant any Breitling expert could tell whether or not it was authentic immediately, then he's correct. As the fellows here have made clear, this one is an obvious fake, for a multitude of reasons.

I Just want to say thanks to EVERYONE for their insight!

SO PER MY STORY: SO THE F***** who owes me money, kept the watch on auction after i told him I knew it was a fake & I wasnt going to take it to clear his debt...So the outcome is the watch was sold for almost 9k!

I really wish I could contact the poor bastard and let him know before a jewler does..

Online auction I assume - is there a link to report it?? I assume that this wasn't eBay or it would have been picked up and reported here already.

It's too bad the seller profited, but I only feel somewhat sorry for the buyer. That watch had enough clues as to its non-authenticity that a little bit of research would have easily revealed them. If a person is going to drop $9k+ without checking on what he's buying, it would seem he is determined to throw his money away. Still, with that kind of cash at stake, the seller is potentially engaging in criminal activity. That's worth checking into further, regardless of who bought the thing.

Exactly. If you are going to spend that kind of cash….do 10 minutes of homework first.
