Was sat on the tube today in rush hour, carriage was rammed and boy was it HOT and stuffy (and smelly)!

I was sweating like a pig, and had to get off halfway through my journey just to get some air and cool off.
London underground could really do with AC.

Well as a result of all the damp and sweat, the Super Avenger caseback became very grimey and so did my Diver Pro 2 strap. Made wearing it uncomfortable because it was felt sticky

How do you guys keep your watches clean? Anyone take theres into the shower?
Think I'm going to dismantle the DP2 strap and soak it in warm water. As for the case back, maybe a quick rub down with a damp towel.

It's been discussed many times before - as long as the watch has high water resistance (like the SA) then running it under a faucet (not going full blast) and using a soft toothbrush with dish soap or diluted simple green.

There are a lot of debates just on showering - the watch should be fine (not Navitimers obviously), but the rapid change in temperatures may age the gaskets prematurely.

Just grab a toothbrush and some soap and go to work under the faucet. Dont make it more complicated than it is.

In my opinion, and to be very blunt, you paid several thousand dollars (pounds) for a watch that is waterproof to several hundred meters (feet), so you better be damn confident that running it under the faucet or wearing it in the shower from time to time is not going to hurt it.

I wear my BlackBird in the shower once every week or two and just use a mild soap to cleanse it and get the grime off. I've never had a problem and you can be darn sure that I'd be pretty upset if this "fine timepiece" broke down in the shower.

For the amount of money I paid for this watch, plus the "reputation" of Breitling, I would expect to go over Niagra Falls in a wine barrel and be swallowed by a whale and not have a problem with my watch.

Warm shower, mild soap, skip the toothbrush and other detergents and you should be fine

i know i cant wear my navitimer world in the water but cant golf with it? to much shock?

And don't put it in an ultrasonic cleaner as one AD on here recently did.....it's didn't work out so well.

Or hand it to an idiot friend and watch them shake the watch like a paint mixer and then put it to their ear to listen to it. I was so shocked I couldn't blurt out "STOP THAT". I asked him what exactly he thought that shaking was supposed to accomplish and he just shrugged... "I dunno"! Moron. Least to say I quickly informed him that this was a NO NO and explained what was actually inside the case.

i started to do this once and i can swear that it scratched my ss case ( not bad thankfully )
