Well I'm going to be the squeaky wheel.......

You chose the wrong one Ricardo :poke:

Navi Olympus beats the Montbrillant Olympus every time in my book - sorry.

Still, my opinion counts for nothing - the Montbrillant Oly is still a great watch and if you prefer it then nothing else matters :lingsrock:

I appreciate your honest candor Roff.

You say your opinion counts for nothing but that simply is not true. I cannot think of many people I respect more when it comes to their knowledge of Breitlings.

Therefore, I feel I must state my defence, M'Lud.

I should start by saying that I had a couple of days to make the decision between the Navi Olympus and the Montbrillant Olympus. Both were offered at amazing prices by Andrew Michaels. It wasn't a decision I made lightly.

The plus points for the Navi Olly was that it was more respected in the Breitling collector fraternity (as you have proved) and it was probably the last NOS example anywhere near me.

However, in the future I would love to own a 806, a Cosmonaute and a Navi 01 one day. Very similar in style to the Navi Olly. But I do not have a desire to own any other of the Monty range. Although, they come from the same family I think there is a wide gulf in the design of tne Navi and the Monty.

The price between the two offers was only £450 and yet the Monty was brand new in unopened box complete with all plastic coverings and it came on the stunning and very expensive Navi bracelet. The Navi, on the other hand, has been in AM's display for four years and came on the cheapish leather strap. We priced up the Navi on the bracelet and it would have made it about £450 more expensive than the Monty.

However, my main reason for choosing the Monty over the Navi was due to respect for Andrew Michaels. I knew they would be able to sell the Navi Olly easily now they have decided to advertise the fact they are willing to sell at a heavily discounted price (in fact, I've already put four people in touch with AM who are interested). I have already owned a Navi Olympus and it felt like I would only be buying it because it was such a superb deal and that didn't sit right with me.They bought up a load of Monty Ollys when they bacame discontinued recently so I wasn't taking their one opportunity of a more profitable sale for them. They were helping me out immeasurably with a stupidly low price on both so I wanted to return the favour.

A difficult decision but I will stand by it all day long. I can honestly say I am so happy with my decision to opt for the beautiful and yet functional Montbrillant Olympus.

I have nothing further to add Your Honour. :poke:

Hey, it's your watch and your money - nothing else matters. I usually don't partake in these A vs. B threads for that very reason - but you're still wrong.
