Chrono Avenger E73360

Hi chaps,

I was wondering if anybody could help me on a question regarding the Chrono Avenger E73360.

What purpose does the compass ring around the dial have? I inherited this watch from my father however no instruction manual was provided and I am a little confused as to how it could actually be used..

A very usefull watch, very strong, you can use the chrono under water.

Regarding the unidirectional bezel, there is only markers with 15, 30 & 45, I take it to measure times regarding the start and then 15 min, 30 min, 45 min...

Compass isn't a hugely useful feature, but an analogue watch can be used as a compass (see the manual) so this helps with precision. It's more useful on the bezel where it can actually be rotated.

Absolutely brilliant; thank you ever so much!

If any of you know the whereabouts of digital manual for this it would also be most appreciated, although I am aware chances are very slim.

Hi, Roff. Having the compass rose printed on the rehaut (as on the CA M1 or even the Ladie's "B-Class for that matter) allows a pilot to remember a current or future heading by setting the 12 o'clock rider tab (or one of the other three) at the desired compass point. It also allows a quick reference to "reciprocal" headings, i.e., The "From" and "To" bearings (signals) emanating from an omnidirectional beacon. As an aircraft passes over a Vortac (very high frequency omnidirectional radio tactical air navigation) transmitter station, the compass needle on his ADF (auto direction finder) instrument indicator "swings" to the reciprocal "From" heading, the heading 180 degrees opposite the "To" heading the indicator had been tracking as the aircraft approached the beacon. Hope all this makes sense for you. These days, GPS navigation is coming close to supplanting the "old" navigational methods and I suspect that will happen completely one day soon...
